Welcome along to the final day of my Cheltenham Bank Builder and it is fair to see that things have not exactly gone the way I hoped they would. [Yesterday](https://steemit.com/football/@marcusbraeburn/braeburn-s-cheltenham-bank-builder-day-8), like so many days, was a classic case of “close but no cigar” as the possible almost became a reality but then drifted off to the land of fantasy and imagination.
**Kemptown, Brighton, a sea view yesterday.**

As I battled through windswept southern England to a birthday shindig in Brighton, things went wrong early doors. Burnley took a lead against Liverpool, the game opened up and my under 2.5 goal five-fold was done before halftime in the first match. Liverpool’s lead at the break also did for my HT/FT trixie too, just a single goal between me and glorious possibility.
Chelsea vs Wolves was next and it was pleasing that both these sides were good enough to READ THE FUCKING SCRIPT people. A draw at both half and full time, less than 2.5 goals, at least I was set up on the final leg of the trixie. If Arsenal and Manchester United could just follow (THE FUCKING) script then all would be well in this little world.
At halftime things were bang on track at the Emirates, 1-0 to the home side, a slender advantage against the seasons undoubted comeback kings. It was game on, surely United could equalise in the second half? I was even punching the numbers into my calculator, sixty quid, that’ll do nicely, that’ll do very nicely.
But alas is was not to be and why should (or would) it be any other way. The gambling gods owe me no favours, I am just a man, a punter, chancing his arm and having it snatched off at the shoulder time after time. These failures are, of course, nobody’s fault but my own. If one makes big outlandish bets then one can expect erratic and disappointing results.
Sadly what choice do I have? Cheltenham commences mañana and the cookie jar is nearly empty. Today, against my better judgement and thanks to the lack of attractive football I am back on the ponies. It’s trixie time, same as before, same method, one race per meeting, selections around 5/1, eight to ten horses, only I am hoping for different results, and yes, I know what this makes me.
**It’s do or die if I want to whip up more Cheltenham funds so it’s all aboard the train to Trixie Town.**
