Inspired by the traditional Iranian houses offering both a zemestan-neshin «winter salon» and a taabestan-neshin «summer lounge», Next Office offers, with Sharifi-ha House, different scenarios.

On a narrow plot in Tehran, stands this seven-storey townhouse. Sharifi-ha House is sequenced horizontally from the most public spaces to the most private, and hosts in the basement wellness universes under a glass-walled pool on the garden level.

**Sharifi-ha House, a three-storied architecture**
The house is paced vertically: a fixed part on the street is attached to an illuminated void, connected by suspended bridges to a fixed part, including movable elements. Sometimes introverted, sometimes extrovert, the house changes with the seasons and uses. Three wood-cladded modules pivot on themselves, transforming the facade into a three-dimensional element. When the volume is "closed", the pure form receives minimal openings and captures the light from the central patio. Once "open", it becomes varied and porous, offering wide terraces and a through light.

The Sharifi-ha House architecture boxes use the same rotation process as the theater scenes: a movable bow must be lowered, the volume must be rotated 90 degrees, and the guardrail must be folded down. The complexity of the transformation required a thorough analysis based on a numerical modeling of the structure, especially since it was necessary to calculate the loads - mainly based on the beams of the living room - in view of the different configurations space.
