Ingredients for the preparation of these typical Jamaican cookies ...

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 cup coconut milk

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon of baking powder

1 cup all-purpose flour

Method

Combine brown sugar and coconut milk in a bowl, then add salt, nutmeg, baking powder and flour.

Knead the ingredients until the dough forms. Sprinkle some flour on a pastry board and inscribe the rather thin dough.

Cut into 2-inch squares. Bake in an oven source recorded at 375F for 10-15 minutes or less.

cada pais tiene sus diversas costumbres gastronomicas que han sido transmitidas de un pais a otro a traves de los siglos desde tiempos muy antiguos indigenas esclavos primeros pobladores del caribe han transmitido estas costumbres culinarias  y de generacion en generacion yo en alguna oportunidad de mi niñez tuve la oportunidad de probar el Maíz Jackass - Jackass Corn las vendian en mi escuela un señor de origen haitiano, en aquel tiempo habian bastantes inmigrantes en Venezuela era epoca de progreso en el pais recuerdo que estas galletas eran muy ricas pero un poco  duras me llamaba la atencion su forma cuadrada. tambien aqui en venezuela como pais caribeño se tiene la tradicion de cocinar  en hojas de platano, al igual que se hace en jamaica pero en una version salada un tamal​ típico de Venezuela que ​ Consiste en una masa de harina de maíz sazonada con caldo de gallina o de pollo y pigmentada con onoto o achiote, rellena con guiso de carne de res, cerdo y gallina o pollo al cual se le agregan aceitunas, uvas pasas, alcaparras, pimentón y cebolla  envueltas de forma rectangular este plato se conoce como hallaca y es nuestro plato tradicional navideño espero disfruten de mi post saludos y bendiciones desde Venezuela...
