what are the IMF thugs promoting this time?

Venezuela was the first nation state to issue a Central Bank Digital Currency (Petro), but has not had an official relationship with the IMF since 2007 (https://www.nytimes.com/2007/05/01/world/americas/01iht-venez.1.5513389.html).  Iran is the first IMF member to issue a Central Bank Digital Currency (Rial).

No more mining ETH?

Seems I recall the IMF including crypto in their global economic report just last month and the headlines emblazoned “stark warnings” about how it could destabilize and create new vulnerabilities in the international financial system.  Now a new IMF report says crypto might replace fiat?  When I dig further, it looks like this “new report” is from June, so I wonder if they’re talking about the same report but just different reporting from a different angle. 

I look into it further. The two reports I find are that the stark warning one from last month is from the [World Economic Outlook Report](https://www.imf.org/en/Publications/WEO/Issues/2018/09/24/world-economic-outlook-october-2018)  and the “new report” is actually from June called [Monetary Policy in the Digital Age](https://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/fandd/2018/06/central-bank-monetary-policy-and-cryptocurrencies/he.pdf) but looks like some people might be reporting about it. 

Then I rewatch your video some and I see you’re pointing to one Staff Discussion Notes that is for sale for $10,  [Casting Light on Central Bank Digital Currencies](https://www.imf.org/en/Publications/Staff-Discussion-Notes/Issues/2018/11/13/Casting-Light-on-Central-Bank-Digital-Currencies-46233)...  I don’t want that one (although the text is available for free at that link)

It’s a good read. And she mentions Brave in her conclusion. Well, kind of.  :). 

The conclusion is a good one at any rate.  Perhaps this report is what sparks the adoption?

Will the BCH split result in the need for you to make a video to help folks receive/capture both coins on the Ledger Nano S? (Thinking of the detailed video you made when the split first happened.  That was extremely helpful in learning how to access the split and collect the BCH).

I am out of (CPU/GPU/HDD) mining for a while now. It was fun and heated (literally heated in my study). But it was only a great investment in my knowledge - paid education, no ROI on the mining. For me the investment in the experience was great, but beating a dead horse to get results is just beating myself in the end. And I am not that masochistic. Thanks for the updates, Jungleguide.

While it may be an expensive hobby I have been thinking more about setting up a mining rig and giving it a try.  Do you have any references on how to approach it?  I remember you had some interviews with a supplier months ago...  Thanks!

Profits in mining... that headline so baiting.... If I had only invested in coins instead of equipment..... I would say "live and learn" but application will never repeat its self.

I took some profit on trading in Sep last year and invested it in mining ETH. It was OK for a few months but wasn't overly profitable. Would have been better investing it all in EOS :-) Hindsight hey!!! IMF - just what we need - different digital gov currency.  Thanks for another good show.

If mining now is not profitable imagine after PoS. Ethereum will be a main Platform but Ether won't be a main token.

Headlines not making sense... no change there then. I totally agree that they are different people selling that bought into Bitcoin Cash efore the fork.... that would just not sense. Another quality video with great perspective, thanks for your worldy veiws,  Chris.
