Now, it is definitely something that we cannot control, so it is necessary to learn how to manage it so that it does not become a torture.
Learning to identify which opinions matter to us, for example, parents, friends, partner... can I change what they think of me? Definitely not, but when a problem arises we can talk about it and express assertively what we think, we think and / or want, that gives us the possibility to improve our relationships.
Finally, nobody improves a relationship by saying "think whatever you want, I can't control that". Something assertive would be, I think this way, tell me what do you think about it? Or I don't agree with what you think, however, it's not something I can change, tell me more so I know what we can do....
The most unfortunate thing about this is that when we base our life thinking about what others will say, we stop being ourselves, we stop being Authentic.
I invite you to evaluate when what people will say prevents you:
-Being yourself.
-Doing what you want to do.
-Commenting or communicating something that is important to you.
-Asking for something that is necessary.
-Setting limits.
