<center>https://habarinetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/echohome1.jpg</center> <br/>When it comes to voice assistants, most people think about  the amazon echo and it's alexa artificial intelligence,  not many people  are knowledgeable about the competition that is out there and what they present.  the google assistant is a strong contender in the voice assistant space and with recent updates it may truly give the echo a run for its money.  since I myself I'm on the market 4a voice assistant I thought I would tell you guys some of the interesting things I found out while researching.

## Alexa or Assistant?
So when choosing a digital voice assistant one of the first things that comes to mind is how well the interface works and what learning curve  exists between beginner and aptamil users.  in this category both the google assistant and amazon's alexa have developed into excellent assistants. The echo has been proven to support more smart home devices but the google assistant has the advantage of me connected to the multitude of google applications.

As far as giving the devices commands  with alexa you gonna have to stick to a relatively specific syntax,  while your google assistant will be more fluid and you will have flexibility in the commands that you can give it. The Alexa gurus save that if you do master these phrases then you will be able to interface with some of the big third party brands that have paired with amazon on this project. Both tools are able to answer a relatively wide range of queries and have access took quite a few skills respectively.

As far as the assistant goes I've already been pretty sold oran google assistant because it is what I use most often on my  samsung galaxy s8.  So  for me google wins the assistant  category,  but alexa if improved on to be more intuitive may find a place in my home.

<h3>How they sound</h3>

The google home provides a rich, well rounded sound but the echo does seem to get a little bit louder when playing music. If quality is what you're looking for then I would choose the google home because it delivers a much better sound quality than its competition. With the Google home you can I hook it up to another speaker via AUX cable but it is bluetooth compatible. Both devices able to be via bluetooth and played as multiroom audio speakers.

<h3>Smart home integration</h3>

When it comes to connectivity in your home with your other smart home devices,  both alexa angle go assistant allow you to do things like turn on lights and  set routines. Devices also have media streaming capabilities via google chromecast or amazon fire stick but google has the abraham because you can access youtube with the google home but can I do so with  amazon echo.

Multi vices can easily connect to your home wi-fi network but it seems that the echo may have a slightly greater range then the Google home. Google assistant has many therapies skills such as allowing you to order a pizza  from dominos or a ride from uber,  but the Alexa generally has more  third party skills.  The amazon echo can receive calls from other echoes and it can receive calls on your home phone line if you use  a device called<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Echo-Connect-requires-service-smartphone/dp/B076ZRFP6Y">echo connect</a>. The Google home does allow you to make outbound voice calls though which is a plus.

<h3>Conclusion</h3>

Since I am more of a set it and forget it type of user, I would most likely choose the Google home because of its familiar interface and simple syntax.  I also am not that worried about how loud the speaker is but do like for the music to sound clear so that's a plus for me. I would choose the alexa if I had more time to dive into configurations and maximizing its potential.  I have read a lot about how you can customise your alexa and even create applications for it; I have to do some deeper research and see if google home can do the same thing.
