I posted something on my facebook about the article "if you invested $100 in BTC in 2010 you would have 70 million right now" and EVERYONE i knew commented that they "wish i had told them about it" 

ive been screaming at the top of my lungs about cryptocurrencies since 2012 and no one listened....even better, they STILL dont listen, they asked how to buy some and when the price would go to a million dollars...

people dont actually care, they just want to be able to brag, thats the way i feel about it

It is not that easy for all people to understand the concept behind cryptocurrencies. I cannot fully understand it (not that I have tried hard but..)
When I try to talk with my parents or parents of my friends about bitcoins for example, they all have the same question. Where do these money come from? Where does their worth come from?
They can't see their point. Same thing happens when I talk to people about steemit. I know its my fault for not being able to explain it but the concept is not easy to comprehend. Any advice to help me begin to understand more of it is welcome

First, our local Aldi has had frozen deep fried Twinkies lately.

I tried a small taste of a deep fried candy bar a few years ago and almost went into sugar shock, I don't understand how people can eat something so unbelievably sweet. I don't eat Twinkies in the first place (although I do like Ho-Hos & Ding-Dongs).

On the main topic of your post, I've found that some people are very "comfortable" being miserable.

When they complain about their situation and you offer them easy to implement advice to change their situation, they either ignore you or take offense.

You can only help those who are willing to be helped.

Yeah I've told a few friends about steemit but they probably think I'm bullshiting them. Oh they will regret not joining when they see steemit becoming huge in a few years.

I completely agree. I was one of those bitcoin evangelists telling everyone I can, some were too stubborn to look into it and now seem to be very upset about it. Now it's time to repeat with STEEM :)

Omigosh I am so dealing with this with some of the people I told about Steemit a year ago and even though they could *still* get in on it they choose to be jealous and annoyed.

I agree 100%! They get envious. 

Let's surf the Steem wave in the same way we did and we're doing it with BTC.

Adding my voice to the chorus of "so much this." I get so frustrated explaining steemit to the same people that took forever to finally admit I was right about Bitcoin. I'm not claiming to live a life free of regret. I mined over 3,000 Bitcoins in 2011 and 2012. I sold most of them for between ten and fifteen bucks each. In order to learn from a mistake, you must first acknowledge you made one. My lesson was always get in early on disruptive tech, and always stay in for the long haul.

Great post... for me I think it's hard for people to change beliefs and to think for themselves and do research to see through all the clouds. That is not something that is "taught" but in these times it's necessary.

I told countless friends to invest in bitcoin YEARS ago. They laughed and thought I was crazy for understanding and seeing innovation decades before the rabble could. Now they are still poor and I am rising, we all are rising. There is a new ruling class rising, those that saw the possibility DECADES before anyone else. We deserve to be in the lead

I think you nailed it. It takes humility to acknowledge, "You were right. I was wrong. I missed an opportunity. What should I do now." Not easy for any of us to do.

I don't know what it is but a lot of people just don't want to know anything that challenges them to have to think, It's actually quite bizarre. Now I just mention it a couple of times now and that's it, do with the information as you please. Very interesting, cheers and thanks for sharing.

Well, I definitely feel like I've been there. And the saga continues with steem... lol. Very well put. People don't like to be made wrong. But hopefully eventually they get past it, and actually take a look at what's in front of them and do something with it. Really great post :)

Yep, just can't get my mates on Steemit.  Don't know why, maybe I need a better sales pitch.  They'll make the move sooner or later  :)
