Original Monochromatic Portrait of a Mother and Child

Here is a painting I did of a mother and her baby, a commissioned portrait. This is a 16 x 20, acrylic on canvas, painted in black and white, according to the client request.

Really nice! I enjoy how you use the full spectrum from almost black to light grey, or paper color. The contrast helps bring the subjects to life.

Thanks! Contrast makes all the difference. I always try to establish the darkest values in the early part of the painting, then get the other values to line up with them.
