# THE VOICE OF PROPHETS AND PREACHERS IN EVERY GENERATION (LUKE 16:19– 31)

# The gospel of Christ is the only opportunity for all generations.

Abraham stated, "They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them" (v. 29). He declined to interfere with Lazarus' blessedness in paradise to send him on a missions trip. 

The rich man stated, "No, father Abraham, yet in the event that somebody goes to them from the dead, they will repent" (v. 30). The Scriptures were not enough, the rich man thought. He may have thought his siblings were like him; they were hard of heart. They were not tuned into profound things. They were not slanted to have a favorable opinion of or to be persuaded by the law of Moses or promises  of the Old Testament. In any case, in the event that somebody came to them from the dead, at that point possibly they would hear him out, and they would rethink. 

The rich man clearly comprehended that his siblings expected to have better understanding, and on the off chance that they didn't repent, they would wind up precisely where he was. Abraham addressed him and stated, "On the off chance that they don't hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded in the event that somebody should become alive once again" (v. 31). 

Jesus was advising the general population who were tuning in to His illustration that in the event that they didn't tune in to Moses or the Prophets, at that point when His Father raised Him from the dead, regardless they wouldn't tune in. Unbelief isn't a moral  issue—there is adequate declaration to God and His integrity in creation and in Scripture that everybody is without excuse on the off chance that they decline to revere Him. Or maybe, unbelief is an intellectual issue. Unbelievers don't adore or believe in God and his Christ in light of the fact that they would prefer not. They don't listen on the grounds that they would prefer not to tune in. They don't have ears to hear in light of the fact that they would prefer not to have ears to hear. 

This is a standout amongst the most sober admonitions that we ever get from our Lord. He cautions us that this is the ideal opportunity for us to seal our time everlasting, in light of the fact that once we die, there’s no amendments anymore.
