# Psalms 65:4
Blessed is the man whom thou choosest,
and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts:
we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house,
even of thy holy temple.

Could there be anyone whose desire is to flop in life? I doubt if anyone intentionally plans to fail in life, yet the world is dotted and punctuated with people who almost succeeded; who took the wrong turn and ended up in an unrecoverable wreck. Pitfalls can and should be avoided. Help is closer to each of us than we know. The counsel to steer us in the direction of continual victory is available, we only need to search it out from the scriptures and then guess what - apply what we have gleaned. 

The Lord did not leave us to grope in the dark. He left us inspired writings to manoeuvre the murky waters of life with certainty. Let's read something together. 2Ch 31:20-21 says "And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the Lord his God. And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered." The man prospered, not because he slept in a local assembly or fasted for lengthy days. The secret of his success was his own love for the Lord. Did you read what this man did? He wrought or worked that which was 'good and right and true before God; he sought his God with ALL, not some of his heart.'

Are our actions good and right and true before our God? Do we have a heart sold out for God and for him alone?

Psalms 23, an insightful expose of the heart of one man, and the passion he had for a God. Though he does not see the Lord with his optical eyes, he loves God with everything in him. David passionately loved God, had a heart that longed to walk with God, and in the cause of his quest, he discovered the love of God. He also understood the possibilities that God offered, a restfulness that comes with knowing.

They that know their God have ceased from all their struggles, come unto me, the Lord says, come all who are burdened with the weight of life, and I will give Rest. The Lord offers Rest to all those who come to Him with a desire to know Him.

Instead of searching for the points to help us get something from the Lord. For example; that promotion, the new car, visa, spouse, additional streams of income, etc Instead of seeking prayers from Men of God and searching for the anointing; instead of pursuing those things the whole world craves after, we should rather pay close attention to the still 'small voice' of the Lord and receive counsel. The Lord's offering is beyond our imagination, beyond what we could ever ask or think!

I like the way David says it in Psa 23:2. He says, He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters." God offers Rest, from everything and a Rest that adds unquantifiable prosperity (received only by your faith).
