The Pharisee sees the tax collector in the sanctuary and expresses gratitude toward God that he isn't a sinner like him. He goes ahead to state, "I fast two times every week; I give tithes of all that I get" (v. 12). This man made careful arrangements to take note of how he went well beyond in his circumspect recognition of the law (which required fasting just once per year) and his conciliatory giving. He depicted himself as the quintessential genuine religious man.
This Pharisee had a twisted comprehension of what justification requires. He believed that justification in before God could be refined by one's own accomplishment of honesty. He added his own legitimacy or merit to grace, his own attempts to faith, and his own execution to crafted by Christ. What's more, he isn't the only one in this view—there are numerous Christians on the planet today who trust that with a specific end goal to be redeemed, keeping in mind the end goal to be justified, you should have faith, grace, and Christ, yet you should add another thing to the blend.
Such Christians say, "I should have faith in addition to works. I should have grace in addition to merit. I should have Christ in addition to my own particular nobility and works of righteousness ." Some believed that God will never articulate a man justified until or unless inalienable and inherent righteousness dwells inside that individual. At the end of the day, one must be purified before he might be justified, which is the opposite the New Testament educates and teach, and what is instructed in this parable. We should take note of that in this story Jesus was tending to all who were remaining there who figured they could be saved by their own righteousness (v. 9). Furthermore, by augmentation, this story tends to all individuals—at that point and now—who still trust in their own particular accomplishments and benevolent acts to make them acceptable and right with God. Individuals accept that God reviews on a bend. For whatever length of time that my wrongdoing isn't as poisonous as my neighbor's, I can be happy about my own performance.
