That is very concerning.  I read that to mean people are spending less time on here than before.  Couple that with the fact that there are people like me who click on hundreds of pages a day and you really see an issue.

The activity is still does by a very small group.  Most of the 400K+ signups are not on the site.  Realistically, this is a site of 20K-25K.  That is who is doing most of the work on here.

Steemit will grow more than facebook and twitter. It is the mixture of both Facebook and Bitcoin. It is easy to earn on Steemit. 
Hoping to earn more on Steem.

Falls in Steem will affected both curation and author plus vote for witnesses..this not a good seasons for we Steemians especially the minnows...hoping for better day of Steem.

New usere dont mean anything if we dont keep them coming back and they wont keep coming back if there hard work isnt getting viewed. This is concerning indeed.

I think this is due to the steem price drop, that is why many people do not see themselves insinuated and the truth in my personal opinion should not be like this, we should think about building day by day and strengthen the community, attract the attention of more investors with high quality content @me-tarzan

I think that on top of the Steem price drop and extremely low daily trade volume, minnows are dying off in their interest because of many unhealthy dynamics that make it hard to succeed, and incredible amounts of spam by newer users trying to chase a quick buck with junk posts.  The content is becoming cluttered with repeat material, Youtube cryptocurency videos by people trying to profit off the hard work of others (and more copycats), and even phishing ruses. It's hard to weed through the junk.

Even sincerely engaging on posts like these often don't get much response from the authors to spark further intrigue, thought, and adoption, which I just don't understand.  We're asked to follow, upvote and resteem, so that should be returned for equal growth and motivation.

Add in increased reliance on bots to make a post look like it's popular and making money (at a slight profit from the SBD you have to spend to get that illusion), and these numbers above are sadly no surprise to me.  I'll Steem on though for the long haul.
