Clash of Law and Morality
<center><a href='https://d.tube/#!/v/mediahousent/fq7zo2ek'><img src='https://ipfs.io/ipfs/QmRT5cV9RrgZno3oJbuYTBFFbiUejjyEZP7TpC3eYXEJQQ'></a></center><hr>

It is a long-aged clash between Law and Morality. Nevertheless, they are two sides of the coin which co-exist as long as the human society is in existence.
The philosophy of Law in the real context won't be complete without the touch of morality.

Law is inconclusive, that is it is not capable of one definition or it does not have a single perspective or view to its approach.
Meanwhile, there are guidelines to which a society is organized or conducted. Hence, every society has its own moral standards and rules.

> ***According to Phil Harris, he defined morality as a code of beliefs, values, principles, and standards of behavior, which are visible among the social groups.***

Note however that, the concept of morality has been previewed as a different perspective of individuals about the rightness or wrongness of a particular form of behavior.

Technically, this video you just watched was repeated by the same photographer Spencer Tunick on the 9th July 2016.
Well, I checked my casebook and I saw the fact of this present case to be in tandem with the case of Shaw v DPP [1962] A.C. 220. Where shaw was convicted for promoting sexual offenses amongst several charges which contravene Sexual Offences Act.

Whether the people in this video have practically lost their sense of dignity and respect for the human hood or they are just high on vodka, let's hear from you guys what you think?

Thanks for watching,
Best regards,
Sam.

Very interesting topic with some excellent points.

Laws are written on stone and paper ... while morals are written on our hearts.

> I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

"Law" has become a clever way for people to legally sin. For example, law may legalize murder (e.g. abortion) but that doesn't make it moral.

I studied the book of Romans and I came to the realization of law limiting human cause it has only the potential of reflecting them how weak they are and sinful they can be and oppose to them working in perfect Grace.
Although that is obtainable in the teachings of Christ, there is still controversy with morals too e.g (prostrating to an elderly person is morally right here while it is a different scenario over there) - the relativity of moral.
I like the analogy you gave.

@kriptonik ·
We talk about two different thing.

The moral is universal, and show us, tell us, what is right.

The law is a pack of rules, what use the government to controll the population, and in the lucky places, can help the social groups live next to each other.

In a theoretical lawless world, the moral can be exist. In an immoral world, there is no way to keep any laws.

Ah now its been a really long time since I graduated from law school but I do remember law and morality from philosophy lectures. Laws have to reflect the prevailing morality of the society otherwise they will not be obeyed. At the same time throughout history we have seen endless examples of laws that changed the prevailing morality in a society. It's a chicken or egg question. I could, like other legal philosophers write a good few books on the topic 😂

I love the concept of natural law!

*wikipedia:*
> Natural law (Latin: ius naturale, lex naturalis) is a philosophy asserting that certain rights are inherent by virtue of human nature, endowed by nature—traditionally by God or a transcendent source—and that these can be understood universally through human reason. As determined by nature, the law of nature is implied to be objective and universal;[1] it exists independently of human understanding, and of the positive law of a given state, political order, legislature or society at large.

And I don't believe in the legal system.

looooooong story. Let's just say that those who invent the laws are always those who profit from it the most.
… and I fought against some powerful politicians and such when I was a journalist. Me, humanity and the case always lost against the system. That in a nutshell. I hope it helps understanding my perspective. :)
