जन्म और मृत्यु – दोनों हमारे हाथ में नहीं है, परन्तु जीवन पूरी तरह हमारे हाथ में है । जीवन कैसे जिया जाए ? इसका निर्णय हमारे अधिकार में है ।

सुख-शांति और प्रसन्नता से जीना या दुःख, क्लेश और अप्रसन्नता में जीवन गुजरना ? किसी ने खूब ही कहा है –

अथार्त दुनिया में हँस-हँसकर जीना ही मुश्किल है । रो-रोकर जीवन को नष्ट करना बहुत ही आसान है ।

सुख तो सभी भोग लेते हैं, दुःख धीर (धैर्यशाली) ही सहते हैं ।

घर की सुखमय कल्पना बालक-बालिकाओं, स्त्रियों-पुरुषों, युवकों-वृद्धों को चुम्बक की तरह आकर्षित करता है । घर की स्मृति व्यक्ति को अपराधों से मुक्त करने में समर्थ एवं व्यसनों से विश्रान्ति दिलाने में भी सक्षम है ।

हैप्पी होम**

हमारी मुम्बई नगरी में वैभवशालियों की बस्ती, सुंदर आलीशान बंगला, फैशनेबल फर्नीचर, बहुमूल्य वस्तुओं के द्वारा सजावट, अदभुत गलीचे वाला आँगन – एयर कंडीशन चालू – टीवी चालू, परन्तु फिर भी घर में कोई नहीं, घर में सब कुछ मौजूद; परन्तु मालिक मौजूद नहीं । नौकर मजा लुट रहे हैं । पूछने पर पता चलता है कि बड़े सेठ विदेश गए है – छोटे सेठ पार्टी में गए है – सेठानी शापिंग करने निकल गई है – सेठ की बेटी डांस क्लास में डांस सीखने गई है । कब आयेंगे ? यहाँ सभी स्वतन्त्र हैं । किसी के भी आने-जाने का समय निर्धारित नहीं है । जब मन करे, चले आते हैं – जब मन करे लौट आते हैं । तभी नजर बँगले पर लगे तख्ती (बोर्ड) पर पड़ी, लिखा था – **हैप्पी होम** ।

मिठाई के डिब्बे को कितना भी सजा दीजिए । उससे मिठाई की मिठास बढ़ नहीं जाती । कस्तूरी के समीप रहने पर भी लहसुन की गन्ध जाती नहीं, चन्दन का पुरे शरीर में लेप कर दिया जाय तो भी गधा घोड़ा नहीं बन सकता । सिंह की खाल ओढा देने से कुत्ता सिंह नहीं बन सकता । गधा गंगाजल में सौ बार नाहा ले तो भी उसका गधापन नहीं छूटता । जीवन के धरातल पर यह बात लोगों को जल्दी समझमें नहीं आती ।

चार दीवारों पर छत बना देने से और उसमें आकर्षक मूल्यवान वस्तुओं की सजावट करने से ही कोई घर “हैप्पी होम” नहीं बन सकता; क्योंकि वस्तुत: वह जड़ पदार्थों का संयोग मात्र है ।

महँगे मकान को ही “हैप्पी होम” समझने की भूल हम बहुत बार कर बैठते हैं । ध्यान रखिये कि हैप्पी होम को किसी तख्ती की जरुरत नहीं है । जिस घर के भीतर प्रसन्न मनुष्य हों – घर के प्रत्येक सदस्य में परस्पर प्रेम, विश्वास, सहयोग हो, बस वही “हैप्पी होम” की संज्ञा पाने का सच्चा पात्र है ।

जहाँ मन का मिलाप है, वही महकता मकान है । जहाँ शान्ति का संचार है, वही शान्ति सदन है । जहाँ भारी भ्रातृत्व-भाव भरा हो, वही भव्य भवन है । जहाँ प्रत्येक सदस्य दे अन्त:करण में आनन्द की ऊर्मियाँ हिलोरें ले रही हैं, वही आनन्द भवन है ।

घर बाहर से दिखने में कैसा है ? इस बात का महत्त्व नहीं है – आप झोपड़पट्टी में रहते हैं या नगर की गली में अथवा किसी बँगले में – फ्लेट में । घर में आधुनिक फर्नीचर या डेकोरेशन है या नहीं – इस बात की चिन्ता नहीं – गिनती नहीं; क्योंकि घास-फूस की झोपड़ी भी “हैप्पी होम” बन सकती है तो दूसरी ओर अति समृद्ध पक्का भवन भी कोप-भवन बन सकता है ।

किसी भी घर को “हैप्पी होम” बनाने के लिए उसे सजाने-सँवारने की आवश्यकता नहीं है, बल्कि जीवन को, ह्रदय को अन्त:करण को सद्गुणों से – त्याग, विनय, प्रेम, विश्वास, सहयोग, सेवा से सजाने-सँवारने की आवश्कता है क्योंकि यही “हैप्पी होम” का मंत्र है ।

जहाँ बड़ो के प्रति विनय-भाव रखा जाता है , जहाँ पारिवारिक सदस्यों में परस्पर प्रेम है, विश्वास है, सहयोग है, सहिष्णुता है, वहां पारिवारिक निरन्तर सुख शान्ति का निवास है । ऐसा होम ही “हैप्पी होम” है, जहाँ किसी की प्रसन्नता कभी कम नहीं होती ।

यदि घर को स्वर्ग बनाना है तो –
**संस्कारों का सिंचन करते रहें...
अपने चित्त को प्रसन्न बनाये रखें...
वचनों में सच्चाई और माधुर्य घोलते रहें...
सज्जनों-अनुभवियों की संगति करते रहें...
सभी के साथ प्रेमपूर्ण व्यवहार करते रहें...
धन-संग्रह की लालसा से दूर बने रहें...
विषयवासना के दलदल से बचते रहें...
कषाय (क्रोध-मान-माया-लोभ) के करंट से सावधान रहें...**
