We are currently entering the era of Decentralisation. Although, most of our social media applications for chatting are highly centralised. Couple of days ago, a friend of mine got banned from a social media, which I won't disclose for some reasons. Such a thing can never happen in a Decentralised application as we users are in complete control of our accounts.

I'm someone who likes specialized applications. I download an application for a specific reason and nothing more. Like downloading a Crypto Wallet - It's meant to only store my tokens/coins or downloading a chatting app - it's meant to strictly be for chatting. I don't really fancy applications that can carry multi functions as I don't think they have the ability to function adequately. But I just used an application that made me doubt my own concept about multi functional applications. This application offers a medium for chatting, web browsing and also serve as a Cryptocurrency Wallet. Isn't it just mind-blowing? [Status.im](https://status.im/) is an Ethereum based decentralised application that allows its users to chat, browse and own a cryptocurrency wallet. This application provides it's users with the ability to chat/communicate with each other within the application. Its like discord app, as it allows group chat and personal chat. The multi functionality of this application is by far one of the best decentralised application I have seen in a long while.

What I really like about [Status.im](https://status.im/) is the web browser feature. I'm an on the move kind of individual, who loves DApp games like Hyperdragons & World of Ether. I have always been faced with the issue of playing this online DApp games at home with my system. I really would have loved playing this game at anywhere and anytime but I can't because when I want to make a transaction in the game, I would have to be linked to Metamask wallet in order to complete the transaction. That has been a major set back for me. With the [Status.im](https://status.im/), I'm relieved that issue is resolved. As [Status.im](https://status.im/) provides a connecting node for mobile Ethereum DApps. That means, as you install the application on your smartphone, you automatically become a client node for Ethereum blockchain. You no longer need your system/desktop to make in-game transactions, your smartphone can make any transaction. That's the massive benefit of having an application that offers a crypto wallet, as well as a web browsing feature.

Let me take you show how this application looks and what it offers to it's users

First thing first, you will have to download and install the application. You can download the application by clicking [here](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=im.status.ethereum) for Android users and [here](https://testflight.apple.com/join/J8EuJmey) for IOS users. You can also download it on your desktop, by clicking [here](https://status-im.ams3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/StatusIm-190516-062034-d94424-release.exe) for Window users, [here](https://status-im.ams3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/StatusIm-190516-062034-d94424-release.dmg) for iMAC users and [here](https://status-im.ams3.cdn.digitaloceanspaces.com/StatusIm-190516-062034-d94424-release.AppImage) for Linux users. The desktop app is still under development, so it's advisable you use the Mobile application. After you have downloaded the application, install it.

The above image will be the first image you will see as soon as you open the application. I have created some many Crypto Wallets, as a result of writing tutorial articles for different wallets. So, for this article, I won't create another wallet, I will import my keys from one of my wallets. I presume most of you reading this article, already have an Ethereum wallet.

Next step, click on "**I already have an account**". But if you want to create a wallet for this application you can go ahead and click on **Create Account**. As you must have clicked on **I already have an account** you will be asked for your 12 recovery phrase of your account and password. Fill it in, and then click on **Sign in**.

After you have signed in, you will get a pop-up, warning you for the usage of the application. I must say, I wasn't pleased with the pop-up message. The message should have come before you must have imported your keys to the account, which is very worrisome, if you got sum huge sum in the account you just imported. I'm glad I used an account I have little tokens in. For this reason, I will highly recommend you create an account for this application and deposit little token. And if needs arise, you can send some tokens from your main Ethereum wallet to this wallet, whenever you want purchase an in-game asset(that's what I'm going to do, because I like the application but I don't yet fully trust it, maybe with time I will).

At this stage, you are already fully signed in. You will be able to see, the icons below, which are **Chats**, **DApps**, **Wallet** and **Profile**.

You can now click on DApps and discover so many DApps. Although, they haven't gotten much DApps, but I'm sure they will. As a fan of the game category, I quickly checked if my games were available, sadly, they weren't. But on the good side, I will begin a new game. Decentraland has been on my mind, I just might start it. From the image below, you will see why I like this application, as it has immediately added me as client node for the Ethereum Blockchain. I can now make in-game purchase using my smartphone.

Now, let's head over to the Wallet. As soon as you click on Wallet, you will be asked to set up, click on it. You will be given your 3 safe words, which you must have to see before signing any transaction.  You store it somewhere safe and then click on **Got it**. You can see your tokens and your history easily. What I like about this application, is that it has a very wide range of currency selection. I haven't been able to use my country currency on any Ethereum wallet, but on this application, I got to use and I felt happy.

With adequate management and constant upgrading and updating of this application, I see it becoming one of the most used Decentralised Application.
