...which is becoming more and more apparent (at least to this commentator) by the day.

Montana is known as a conservative state, with loads of hardworking rugged individualists.  A land of extreme beauty but also of extreme geographic and climatic variation, Montana is known for its ranches, farming, horses, etc...not exactly the type of place that many liberals who aren't previously independently wealthy would survive on their own wits and with their urban ethics.

Despite a conservative majority, Montana--like every other state--is loaded with liberal politicians (many recently sent in and supported by TPTB) but, the average Montanan is fed up with the typical "child" "protective" "services" (CPS) racketeering, and is putting pressure on the political class to do something.

Here is an excerpt describing what is going to be attempted:

"A legislative committee will begin taking an in-depth look at the child protective services system and at senior and long-term care services when it meets Sept. 13 in Helena.  The Children, Families, Health, and Human Services Interim Committee will be studying those topics over the next year, based on study resolutions passed by the Legislature earlier this year.

At the meeting next week, members will:

  **  learn how the Department of Public Health and Human Services responds to and evaluates reports of potential child abuse or neglect, including how the agency decides whether a child should be removed from the home and when the child and parents should be reunified;

 **   hear about the impact the cases have on Montana's court system, including information from Montana Supreme Court Justice Ingrid Gustafson about efforts being undertaken to reduce the amount of time it takes to reunify families or find other permanent placements for children; and

**   hear about procedures and challenges specific to Montana's Indian tribes."

This could be very interesting.  While I am not hearing (or seeing) anything about abolishing CPS, it is a bit encouraging, at least, that they will be reviewing, on the legislative level, the first point about CPS seizure activities.   It is also encouraging that that is the number one item on the agenda.

While I am not overly hopeful that any real reforms can be made (without first addressing the problem with the liberal CPS-aligned special courts) it only takes one state to put in some real enforceable reforms of child seizure procedures--AND TO ACTUALLY FINE AND FIRE SOME CPS VIOLATORS--for a snowball effect to sweep the rest of the states.

We'll keep an ear open on this, and let you know what, if anything, positive actually comes out of it.

AND...like I've been saying, if CPS can't be fixed...ABOLISH IT!
