David sat at a corner of his class room and he felt so disappointed at himself, he had scored 3 out of 20 again in his mathematics test as usual but he taught the result will be better this time around because he had read all night and he even refused to eat because he wanted to understand this subject but this was what he had again and his class mate also made fun of him as usual, they were not expecting anything better so they just laughed as the teacher called out his score and she said just as usual. 

He was really bitter and he could hardly concentrate in the remaining classes, he went back home feeling sad and dejected. Immediately he got home, he ran straight into his room without saying hello to his grandmother he sat on his bed as he cried his heart out. His grandmother immediately followed him into his room and watched him weep uncontrollably, she moved close to him and asked what the problem could be, he looked at her and said; Mama, I failed again as he held out his test paper to demonstrate what he meant. 

His grandmother looked at him and said Son, whatever is believable is achievable. He quickly replied but Mama I studied really hard for this one and I really put my heart to it, his grandmother said, Son do you believe that this mathematics can become your favorite subject and you can emerge as the best student in your class at the end of the year? He looked at her with disbelief and said Mama, how possible is that.

She said look son, whatever you believe in your heart is already achievable, so from now hence forth you will believe that you know mathematics so well, when your teacher is teaching you in the class room you will put your heart to it and believe that you know it and even when you get back home every day you will study it very well and believe in your heart that you will pass it excellently well, there is no doubt about it, you will definitely do well at it, I am certain about that and I am sure you trust grandma’s decision isn’t it?, he nodded and said yes.

When the result for the second test came out, the teacher came to the class as usual to read their grades to them and when she called David’s name, some students in the class room started laughing and they paused and started looking at each other when they heard 16 out of 20, it was as if a great bomb dropped and the whole class looked astonished, David stood up and said yes I did it, he was really filled with joy throughout the day and when he got back home he ran to meet his grandmother and shared the great news with her.

She looked at him and said; Son, I am sure that you want your success of achievement to continue and he immediately said yes of course it really feels great, she said yes I know it does feel great but it means you need to work more hard to achieve greater success and feel greater.
