ADDING BIG NUMBERS VERY FAST.

<p>Today we are doing the most wonderful way of adding up bigger numbers.</p>
<p>It is so easy because all we are doing is making them smaller.</p>

<p>The most important thing to remember here is that we must keep our place value right when we write down the amount we are adding.</p>
<p>Once we realise how easy it is we will never struggle with adding up large numbers again as this does make such a lot of sense in saving time.</p>

<p>As I said before just remember to write them down with their right place value and then you can add up at an incredible rate.</p>
<p>Most children feel frightened when they see maths with such large numbers and they have to carry over and may make a lot of mistakes.</p>

<p>If we do it this way we only take a few seconds to add this up and our teacher will be so impressed because we are doing it so fast.</p>
<p>When you write a test this can also save a lot of time and you will have more time for the rest of the test.</p>
<p>With all these little tricks we are learning we can work a lot faster and then we will have time to check everything once we have finished as we will have extra time and we can make sure that we did not make mistakes.</p>
<p>When we can check our work before handing it is in, we might just bring up our percentage on the test as we have used easy methods and we will have extra time.</p>
<p>So as I said just want you to remember to keep the position of your adding under the right value as there can be mistakes if we do not do that.</p>

<p>On the last sum you will see exactly what I mean and you will really start enjoying doing you’re adding by longer numbers.</p>
<p>Just remember that in the last maths problem he does puts the amount he added underneath the first in full.</p>
