The airdrop phase for [DeepOnion](https://deeponion.org/) has officially ended. While this may leave you a little sad, it also means that something brand new has just been released for public use! That's right, Vote Central is finally here, and you can register immediately to reserve your username in the system.

It's been a long time coming, and many community members are very excited about this new step in the evolution of DeepOnion. If you're new to DeepOnion, and you don't quite understand what it's all about then keep reading! In this article we'll briefly go over the basics of the new program, and I'll show you how to register your account. Keep in mind that accounts do need to be manually approved at this point by an administrator before you can participate.

<center><h2>What is Vote Central?</h2></center>

Vote Central is a long awaited DeepOnion release that gives power to the community of the coin. Those who register will be able to participate in many new activities. This includes the ability to not only vote on proposals, but also to suggest them! Do you have a great idea that would make DeepOnion better? Add your suggestion to the Vote Central system, and then everyone will be able to fairly vote on it. This gives every holder a chance to have their voice heard. 

If you've been with DeepOnion for the long haul then you also have the opportunity to become a founder. A founder needs to have participated in at least 20 of the 40 airdrops, and they **must** have been part of the **40th drop**. They also will have needed to have held 90% of their received $Onions in the wallet they used for the drop. Unfortunately, I did not get in to this coin soon enough to become a founder. However, if you're late to the party as well then you'll be happy to know that founders will not have all the voting power. 

While they may have a slight advantage over those with less $Onions or newer users it won't affect your ability to vote. Even very small holders with as little as 50 $Onions will still be able to have their voice heard in this new system. If you don't yet have this many $Onions it would be wise for you to acquire them quickly. If buying is out of the question for you due to economic disadvantages then it's still possible for you to earn them by performing bounties or entering contests at the [DeepOnion forums](https://deeponion.org/community/).

In addition to proposals and voting, now Domination tasks will be part of the Vote Central system. These can be proposed by community members as well, and they may include things such as social media campaigns or performing certain actions within the Vote Central ecosystem. Those who participate can accumulate these points which they can then use for rewards later. 

<center><h2>How Do You Join Vote Central?</h2></center>

**Step 1**: Login to your DeepOnion forum account, and [go to this link](https://deeponion.org/community/applyvotecentral.php).

If you're logged in then most of the relevant information should be filled out for you already. Though, if you were not registered for the airdrops you may need to go to your profile, and then input your bitcointalk ID and your wallet address. Make sure the wallet address used is the one with the most $Onion in it as this will affect your voting weight.

**Step 2:** Go to your DeepOnion wallet, and unlock it completely! (**Not just for staking!**)

Go to the top menu, and then click on **Help** > **Debug Window** > **Console**

<center>Next you'll need to enter a command into the console box. 
**signmessage DEEPONIONWALLETADDRESS VOTE**</center>

Make sure you replace "DEEPONIONWALLETADDRESS** with **your** wallet address. The one you intend to use for your voting weight should go here. After you hit enter the console will spit out some text for you. Copy paste that into the box on the application that says "Signed Message Hash". If you take a look at the example image you'll be able to see where these menus are located in the wallet, and how the command should look.  (**Don't forget to re-lock your desktop wallet when you're done!**)

**Step 3:** Select a password for your Vote Central account, and choose your language.

Congratulations! You've successfully registered for Vote Central! Now, you just have to wait for an adminstrator to approve your account, and then you can begin submitting and voting on proposals. Or you can start completing Domination Tasks to begin earning Deep Points.
