The phenomenon of thick black clouds rolling up like a Tsunami wave, occurred a few days ago, at 9.00 am.
These clouds suddenly appeared when the sky was clear.
The black clouds were clearly visible to residents in the West Aceh and Nagan Raya areas.
![037520000_1597046957-awan_smong.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmWRKX4ZM4ne99aEaHvFvgz51GHh5W2tYv6CnoRFeuMxeu/037520000_1597046957-awan_smong.jpg)
[Source](https://m.liputan6.com/regional/read/4327120/heboh-fenomena-awan-tsunami-muncul-di-meulaboh-aceh-hari-ini)
The residents immediately captured this rare moment with their cellphone cameras, and it quickly circulated on social media.
According to the BMKG, the Arcus cloud phenomenon is caused by a cold meeting, thus pushing warm, dense air, causing thick clouds.
Officials from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency also explained that this current cloud was a normal phenomenon.
The impact of these clouds is strong winds, continued heavy rain, thunder, or lightning. This is purely a natural occurrence.
The Nagan Raya Geophysical Climatology Meteorology Agency also confirmed that the event was merely a natural phenomenon. These clouds suddenly appeared when the sky was clear.
The appearance of a giant cloud had made Acehnese people panic.
The cloud became known as the Arcus cloud.
Arcus cloud is a low horizontal formation, which usually appears as accessory clouds, of a communilumbus.
Arcus clouds seen in the Meulaboh sky yesterday morning, are a rare phenomenon. Residents were asked not to panic, but to be aware of the impacts that could occur.
Such are ladies and gentlemen.
