Hi my friends 😊 this is my 20th entry to **THE DIARY GAME**.

### ⏰ Wake up early for our trip.⏰
Today my daughters, my sister and I are going for a trip to the **Lake of Fogliano**.
So early breakfast and then running at 9 a.m. to pick up my sister to start our adventure.
From our small town Ardea, it takes about fifty kilometers to get to the lake.

We could travel the entire coastal road but the journey would be longer, so we take the 148 provincial road known as **Pontina**, because it crosses the entire agro-pontine area, what were once the Pontine Marshes, an important area of agriculture and livestock in the Lazio.

The sun is already warm and the sky is clear without even a cloud. On the way we make a small pit stop in a service area to refuel.

**The lake of Fogliano** is the largest brackish lake in the Pontine province, a few kilometers from the center of Latina and close to the sea, within the **CIRCEO NATIONAL PARK**, a protected nature reserve that preserves the wild flora and fauna of the area.

Immersed in the silence of unspoiled nature,  Fogliano Lake extends over an area of about 4 kilometers.

It is the ideal place to go for a walk and get away from the noise and chaos of the city.
So we begin to follow the path that runs along the lake.

Clearly the panorama is wonderful, a peculiarity of the lake is its position, it is separated from the **Tyrrhenian Sea** only by a coastal road.
Looking closely at the photo you can see in the distance a promontory that rises steeply above the sea: it is **Mount Circeo**.
It is here that **Ulysses** meets the sorceress **Circe**, goddess or witch of Greek mythology told in the **Odyssey**.
Continuing to walk we meet a few animals.

They are the Pontine Buffaloes that graze inside the reserve to encourage their milk production. In fact, this area is also famous for its typical buffalo mozzarella.

We continue the journey after taking some photos.
Also in this photo we can see in the distance the Monte Circeo.

In the distance there is a herd of horses free to graze. This area is also famous for its riding schools and its Pontine cowboys, called **Butteri**.

It is a **bird watching area** for the numerous bird species that nest right here.
The tall grass is rather dry, however some flowering plants stand out among the brushwood.

It was a nice walk a little tiring because of the heat but still very pleasant.
We love being in contact with nature makes us feel good and in a good mood for the rest of the day.

I went a little bit longer 😬 but I wanted to share the best moment of the day.
At lunchtime we went home and the sultry afternoon really exhausted us.
It was better to the lake.😉
My daughters have dedicated themselves to the play station because they love to play **Assassin's Creed**, I think we have almost the whole collection.
I relaxed by browsing Steemit's posts from my mobile phone.
And the evening passed like this, quietly in the family.
