Torniamo nel quartiere di **Shinjuku**, ma questa volta di sera dove sarete rapiti da milioni di luci ed insegne colorate e sfavillanti che vi faranno credere di essere in un altro mondo!

Qui ci troviamo nella zona di _**Shinjuku Kabukicho**_, dove inizia lo scintillante quartiere a luci rosse, non vi preoccupate, niente di scandaloso o volgare, i locali sì ci sono, ma ci si passeggia tranquillamente anche con i bambini senza che alla loro vista appaia qualcosa di _hard_!
Nella foto, siamo su _**Godzilla Street**_, lo potete notare in fondo alla strada, il suo gran testone di quasi 12 metri, posto a circa 40 metri di altezza sul **Toho Building**, sopra una grande sala cinematografica e l'_Hotel Gracery_, dove i clienti hanno a disposizione la terrazza per toccare con mano la testa di Godzilla.

**Shinjuku** è un quartiere tra i più grandi presenti tra i 23 quartieri di Tokyo, occupando un'area di più di 18 mq. E' un quartiere ricco di vita, sia di giorno che di notte, si dice che _"Shinjuku non dorma mai"_, è una delle zone più importanti e passerete di qui sicuramente se vi trovate in città. La sua fondazione risale agli anni '50, ma risale al periodo **Edo**, quando nel 1700 si sviluppò come _shin_ cioè **nuova** e _juku_ cioè **stazione**.
Qui ci sono tantissime attività commerciali ed innumerevoli ristoranti, bar, hotel e sale giochi immense ed inoltre troverete il **Palazzo del Governo Metropolitano di Tokyo**, composto da due alte torri, dove si gestisce tutta l'amministrazione pubblica e politica della città e dove, gratuitamente, potrete raggiungere il 52° piano per una meravigliosa vista sulla città (ma qui vi porterò la prossima volta).

Qui nasce la stazione ferroviaria più trafficata al mondo, dove si calcola che più di tre milioni e mezzo di persone, vi circolino ogni giorno.
