Last week, in Paris, I went to see the Toutankhamon exhibit, with my dad.

It was a really surreal experience seeing all of the beautiful and incredibly well preserved artifacts that were left in the tomb with the pharaoh.

That being said, I don’t think this is the type of art that is meant to be on display in museums around the world.

The artists who created these works were not hoping to have it shown later in history —as many artists of the past might have been. These artists wanted their young pharaoh to have a pleasant experience in the afterlife.

Keeping these artifacts with his mummified body was meant to guide and protect Toutankhamon. Considering that afterlife is still not over (ever), I think this art should have been respectfully left in the tomb.
