I have been fortunate enough to be a proud father to my son. My son was born with Autism and I knew there was something wrong at a young age of 2 but didn't realize the scope of the issues that came with Autism. What I did learn early was that routine was the key to a happy life for him. Therefore I began to observe his behavior when he was happy, sad or angry or frustrated. What I didn't realize is how I would put my career on hold to help my son. I learned sign language and taught him as well so he could let me know when he was hungry, sad, angry or frustrated. I volunteered at his school 2 days a week to help him and his friends at his school. I put my life on hold for him for 2 years and I will always cherish those  years and every moment since his birth. The doctors tried to put him on Ritalin and I just about forced the moron to take them instead of my son. You don't give an Autistic child Ritalin you give them you undivided attention and routine and you will see a world of difference.
