Part 11. Surveillance

Back in his hotel room, Victor tried to contact Oleg via Skype, but the connection for some reason did not work.
– I guess I'll have to go to Bucharest for a safe house. I want to send to the leadership Academy photos "mishandled Cossack. The fact that he's been watching us, can not be questioned. And we need to ask Oleg about the fact that we have extended a business trip and the booking for the accommodation in this hotel...
– You won't have time to go back, – Vika said, frightened. "What if something goes wrong?"
– Then I'll go straight to-morrow morning, and to-day we'll be very careful." We have "- he glanced at his watch - " ten hours before midnight." Let's go to lunch, but not in the hotel cafe, and here nearby I saw a small but nice cafe with a good overview. We'll keep an eye on that suspicious character if he's really following us."
– We'll have dinner in the room, and we'll buy groceries at the local supermarket when we're walking around town. And after dinner a couple of hours can be a little rest.
– You agree with me? – Victor turns and looked at his comrades. They nodded in silent agreement.
– Well, then, let's go!
The boys quickly gathered and left the hotel, not forgetting to take with them the devices with which they could temporarily become invisible.
As they walked to the cafe, carefully looked around. Anton even stopped once and leaned over, pretending to adjust the clasp on his shoes and took a quick look back. Everything seemed to be calm.
The guy they noticed when the waitress brought his order. "Spy" sat on the bench in front of the window of the shop, near which sat the friends. They watched the young man carefully, trying not to show their interest. He watched the people walking in front of him with indifferent eyes and only occasionally glanced in the direction of the cafe.
When he noticed that the boys had risen from the table, he hurriedly rose from the bench and walked towards the hotel.
– Let's go the other way," said Anton, – and try to get away from him.
– Good idea, and then we'll take a circuitous route back to the hotel, and I'll sit in the lobby for a while, like reading a newspaper or a magazine. I'll try to track him down...
After walking for an hour on the streets of the city, the guys went to the store and bought food for dinner. Then they went home, not forgetting to check from time to time whether they were being followed.
But anything suspicious they notice. Entering the hotel, Anton and Vika, as agreed, went up to the room, and Victor, comfortably seated in an armchair, standing under a sprawling palm tree growing in a tub, opened the magazine bought in the store, and began to leaf through it, looking at the guests entering and leaving the hotel.

Victor was already decided that the guy who accompanied friends finally lost sight of them and will no longer bother them with his presence. Then the front door opened, and he appeared in the hall, took his room key from the porter, and went up the stairs.
Victor managed to make out the numbers on his number, and after a minute, he slowly followed the young man. Victor waited for him to enter the room, then walked past her, pausing at the door for a moment to listen. But the room was quiet. The room where the boys lived was a little further down the hall.

While Victor tried himself as a scout, Vika and Anton prepared a modest dinner for the arrival of their comrade. But before they sat down at the table, Victor told them everything, what little he had learned.
– We shall have to be very careful, "he concluded," to slip past his room as quietly as possible.
After dinner, Vika went to her room, lay down on the bed, and tried to put her thoughts and feelings in order.
She felt both impatience and some excitement at the prospect of meeting her grandfather. It would seem that now worry, already saw him, talked with him. Perhaps this excitement should be attributed to the fact that the case was moving towards completion. And, of course, it frightened her, causing a serious sense of alarm, so inopportunely appeared pursuer.
