Musim panen padi telah tiba masyarakat tani di desaku mulai semangat karena musim panen padi telah tiba. Di sana sini kita lihat petani sibuk dengan berbagai aktivitas di sawah, termasuk aku juga sibuk pulang pergi ke sawah.

Sebagian petani sibuk memotong padi dengan sabit, sebagainya lainnya mengangkat ikat padi hasil potongan ke tumpukan, sebagian lagi sedang menunggu hasil perontokan, sebagian lainnya sedang mengangkut padi ke rumah atau ke kios pengumpul.

Bila musim panen, hampir tidak kita lihat masyarakat tani itu menganggur alias tanpa pekerjaan. Hasilnya ekonomi masyarakat sangat gembira waktu itu, sekira-kira sebulan lamanya.

Namun kini terjadi sedikit perbedaan seiring perkembangan teknologi, di mana jasa pemotongan padi tergantikan oleh mesin pemanen kombinasi. 

Teknologi kentara menggeser budaya tradisional manual yang dalam lima tahun terakhir sudah mulai hilang dari penglihatan. Masa panen tak lagi banyak melibatkan warga tani untuk berjubel di area persawahan seperti dulu, mulai menyabit padi, mengumpulkan hingga Ngedos (panen dengan alat pancal kaki). Yang nampak kini, mesin mayoritas Combine Harvester yang rata-rata dibawa dan dimiliki pembeli gabah.

Bila musim panen, hampir tidak kita lihat masyarakat tani itu menganggur alias tanpa pekerjaan. Hasilnya ekonomi masyarakat sangat gembira, sekira-kira sebulan lamanya. Tentunya sejak dimulai musim panen, aktifitas siang hari masyarakat lebih ramai di lahan persawahan.

Selain ikut memanen, setiap musim panen juga membuka peluang bagi masyarakat mengais rezeki di bidang lainnya. Bisa ikut mengambil bagian sebagai tukang ojek, yang bertugas mengangkut gabah padi dari sawah sampai ke desa. Atau menjadi pengepul padi, baik skala kecil maupun besar yang juga banyak hadir sampai kesawah lokasi panen.</div>

The rice harvest season has arrived, the farming community in my village is starting to get excited because the rice harvest season has arrived.  Here and there we see farmers busy with various activities in the fields, including myself busy commuting to the fields.

Some farmers are busy cutting rice with sickles, others are lifting bunches of cut rice into piles, some are waiting for the threshing results, others are transporting rice to their homes or to collectors' stalls.

During the harvest season, we hardly see that the farming community is unemployed or without a job.  The result was that the people's economy was very happy at that time, for about a month.
 
But now there is a slight difference along with technological developments, where rice cutting services are replaced by combination harvester.  

Technology has clearly shifted the traditional manual culture which in the last five years has begun to disappear from sight.  The harvest period no longer involves many farmers in huddling in the rice fields as before, starting to mow the rice, gathering up to Ngedos (harvesting with the leg).  What you can see now is that the majority of the Combine Harvester machines are carried and owned by buyers of grain.

During the harvest season, we hardly see that the farming community is unemployed or without a job.  The result is that the people's economy is very happy, for about a month.
Of course, since the harvest season begins, community daytime activities are more crowded in the rice fields.
  
A part from participating in harvesting, every harvest season also opens opportunities for people to earn sustenance in other fields.  Can take part as a motorcycle taxi driver, who is in charge of transporting rice grain from the fields to the village.  Or become rice collectors, both small and large scale who are also present to the rice fields of the harvest location.
