My boss convinced me to find an apartment after there was a break-in at my house.  He argued that apartment living is always safer.  He even offered to check out apartment listings for me.


I have my concerns about apartment living and I do not like the idea of walking alone in a car park at night.  I always park my car right in front of my house.


Any consideration I have of moving into an apartment was put to rest when my friend, Kevin told me the following story over dinner with some friends.  He had no idea that I was apartment hunting.


Kevin said that he has recently sold his apartment and moved with his family to a house with a large garden.  I was surprised as the apartment was so much closer to his office.  He then revealed his cousin who was also living on the same apartment block had a spooky encounter and immediately moved out the following day.



The cousin was home late after some overtime at the office.  He was all alone in the elevator and had stood right in front of the door.  When the elevator was a few floors up, he suddenly heard his name being called from behind him.  There was absolutely nobody else in the elevator!  When the door opened,  he dashed out and ran for his life, not daring to look behind him.


If this happens to me, I would probably drop dead from cardiac arrest in the elevator.  I am having a friend with me now and that caffeine with biscotti to take my mind off scary thoughts.
