With the recent controversy surrounding Ned's inevitable abandoning of the ship, we're left with vague as fuck answers regarding what's to happen next. So far, we know that Tron is taking the wheel, and there's some weird talks of Steem essentially being killed off and remade with a lame nu-crypto token swap with a transition to Tron's network.

As you can probably tell already, I'm completely against this. I came to Steem's network for Steem and the foundations in which it was built on. Like you, I didn't come to Steem for Tron. Like many have said for years, witness votes are important. It's hard to remind people constantly to use up those votes and get the right people to be the spokesmen for this network regarding potential changes.

Tron is a change that has the opportunity to be one that is either hostile, or community-governed. In true crypto ways, at least, change is a community-wide agreement that is discussed and voted upon in a fair manner. 

In short, what I'm saying is: start voting for witnesses now. If there's a chance that Steem can exist in its current state with resources from Tron without any hostile, community-ignored changes, it's with our witnesses getting their voices heard. It's with the community sticking true to what makes crypto so influential: its original core values in which the community is in fact the one governing change.

While we still don't yet know what the fuck is happening or going to happen, the vague answers we do have are enough for us to start thinking and acting now. Our voices getting heard are the most important thing for the future of the real Steem, not a token swapped remake.

Let's also not forget that our witnesses have some of the largest stakes in the network, they'll be wanting to keep those safe. They can be the voice for the smaller fish.

This event could be seen as Steem's ultimate election. A true test of the witnesses and Steem's core values. Get voting.
