*This post is almost as long winded as a Presbyterian sermon. Strap in.*

Yesterday I decided to finally try @mountainjewel's [Nourish tincture](https://homesteaderscoop.com/product/nourish-holy-basil-milky-oat-blend-organic-tincture-1-oz/). I had two trials of it.

The first trial, I just put a half a dropper full in a little bit of water to get a taste of it. *What a flavor!* It's hard to explain the taste of it. Fresh, herbal, floral, and evergreen are some words I'd use. Neither bitter nor sweet the way I drank it, but very good. 

The second trial, I figured I'd add it to my daily apple cider vinegar and honey. ACV is something I've not been religious enough about lately, so I'm getting back in the swing of it.

# Here's my recipe:

*First,* I put in the honey. A tiny bit over a quarter inch in the bottom of the cup. Maybe 5/16". 
*Then,* I add my ACV. About the same amount.

Usually I fill with warm water after that, but today, before I did that, I added a heaping dropper full of the Nourish tincture. 

***Wow!*** The things it did to The Mother. It seemed to latch onto the mother, the active protein cultures in the ACV. In appearance, the mother became darker and larger. 

The taste was also off the charts. Incredibly refreshing. I could still taste it in my mouth for four or five hours. In a good way. Probably the most refreshing drink I've ever had.

*The mother is the little floaty bits in there. Its the "good for ya" part of apple cider vinegar. This was after drinking half of it, so a lot of the mother was already consumed.*

# *Great, Nate, it tasted good. DID THE STUFF WORK?*

Those are some high claims! 

See, originally I bought the tincture for Melissa. She has anxiety that can keep her up at night over anything. Pair that with all the demands of being my wife and the stay-at-home mother of my three wild spawn, and she's under some stress to say the least. I'm having a hard time convincing her to try the natural medicine route, but I think she's warming up to the idea. That's part of the reason I tried it; to convince her it's safe. 

I also tried it myself in hopes that it'll help with my respiratory and immune issues I've been having lately (I didn't read that part of the description originally when I ordered the tincture). I've had seasonal asthma since I was a kid and I get pneumonia a lot. I've also been really off lately health wise. As far as effectiveness in this aspect, I think it'll take a while to build my immune system and respiratory strength. Any approach would. 

I'm not a super nervous or anxious person usually. *But for a non-nervous type person, I was unusually impervious to my usual stresses at work last night.* There's a few things that can usually set me off pretty good, and last night I noticed a clear headedness that I usually don't experience. I've been experiencing some of that "worn out, run down" feeling with my job lately, and I feel like this stuff *really* helped a lot. *"Water off a duck's back"* as my friend at work puts it, so I did notice effects almost immediately as in @mountainjewel's description. 

## To answer your question: *YEAH, IT WORKS GREAT!*

*I definitely recommend it for anyone that's needing a little natural help with stress.* Or anyone that just wants to add an extra layer of **awesome** to their apple cider vinegar drinks. I'm serious, this stuff tastes awesome. *So* awesome that I'm going to have a quick glass before bed. I doubt twice a day will be a bad thing ;)
