This isn't going to go down well, hey ho.......

I just read an article by @adamkokesh, entitled '[Why I love the Libertarian Party](https://steemit.com/libertarian/@adamkokesh/why-i-love-the-libertarian-party)'. Adam it seems upon further reading is intending to stand for President of the United States of America in 2020 and is a member of the Libertarian Party, and that takes some guts to stand up front for what you truly believe in.

Thanks to Adam, I've just spent the last couple of hours reading up on the Libertarian party and the ideals and philosophies of the Libertarian movement, and to some extent the Anarchist movement. 

The Libertarian Party's website starts out with a softly, softly approach...

We seek to substantially reduce the size and intrusiveness of government and cut and eliminate taxes at every opportunity.
We believe that peaceful, honest people should be able to offer their goods and services to willing consumers without inappropriate interference from government.
We believe that peaceful, honest people should decide for themselves how to live their lives, without fear of criminal or civil penalties.
We believe that government’s only responsibility, if any, should be protecting people from force and fraud.

Then we get to the Platform, or manifesto if you wish. Their official statement of issues. You can read it [here](https://www.lp.org/platform/) and it is these principles on which I take issue.

The majority of these 'principles' could have been written by a spoilt child stamping it's feet. The pure selfishness of a society based upon an individuals rights to basically do what the fuck they like is moronic, insular and exclusive to the extreme. I have never read such a pile of contradictory nonsense written by what appears to amount to a load of middle class, white people  who wish to be allowed to do as they please, when they please, without recourse. 

It does say 'individuals should take responsibility for their actions' ..right. That's going to happen anytime soon. 

What about YOUR responsibility towards other members of the human race ?

Libertarians placing their trust in a 'survival of the fittest mentality' is possibly the most disgusting ideal I've ever seen.

Libertarians would phase out the current government-sponsored Social Security system and transition to a private voluntary system. The proper and most effective source of help for the poor is the voluntary efforts of private groups and individuals. And if your utopian society isn't working, as I strongly suspect it won't, then what? What if people don't have the intelligence to get a top job or go through university ? What if the 'voluntary efforts of private groups and individuals' don't look out for the less fortunate, the ones who are ill but can't afford medical care. The elderly without family or a pension? .......No mention at all. But what else should one expect from a bunch of elitist self styled guardians of liberty!

You object to paying taxes, but you expect people to volunteer to pay towards social care? How does that work ? I see many trust issues.

>We support the maintenance of a sufficient military to defend the United States against aggression. The United States should both avoid entangling alliances and abandon its attempts to act as policeman for the world. We oppose any form of compulsory national service.

Fuck off then..no problem! Close your borders, pull up your drawbridge and enjoy your self sufficiency.

So you're giving a company or organisation carte blanche to employ who they wish without any written legislation protecting equal rights, and then expecting individuals to deal with the issues brought up? LOL....again, what planet are you on exactly ? Or is it simply the fact the authors were high as kites on the narcotics they demand freedom to use when they wrote this. Wait till some racist scum applies this right afforded to him and refuses to let a black girl sit in the whites only seats....

Doesn't condone it, but doesn't do anything to prevent it. What if their belief is aligned to fundamental Islamic ideology ? is that ok ? What system for child protection do you intend to have in place ? ahhhhh thats down to individuals to volunteer to protect children......got it, thanks!

How do you know there are no victims ? another voluntary organisation to decide ? of course it will be easy to check because you've closed your borders and are'nt importing anything due to you not having anymore entangling alliances, assuming that also means trade alliances.

Let's hope that all over the world in response, people stop buying Coke and KFC and all those powerful brands whose wealth has built you the freedom you currently have to enable you to spout this arrogant trash.

In these times, we should be working in global cooperation and rectifying wrongs from the past, making sure our fellow human beings have food to eat, that people have basic liberties that you take for granted, that the world has access to medical care and clean water.

You don't give a fuck though do you ? As long as you have your right to own a gun and protect a piece of land you bought, even though your ancestors stole it from the natives. Even though the money you 'earned' to buy that piece of land came from an economy built by immigrants and slaves. 

You what I really hate? The fact you've taken the word 'Liberty' which is such a powerful word of freedom and hope, and turned it into a byword for an organisation which seem to represent little more than self-interest and self-importance.
