Mate, you need a new account! Not even Lazarus could come back from a -11 !! Its more of a shame to see how many have taken the cash and jumped off like rats. I just went through my following list and wiped over half of it out. Some big names 7 or 8 months ago, just gone, and others just parked their SP into Smartsteem and are raking in the interest.

It's a part of the journey ;)

In a way, it filters out people who genuinely want to follow what I write. 

People are fickle, they will all flock back and complain about STEEM being too expensive to buy in a few months. The level of commitment we see from the witnesses and core content producers means this place isn't disappearing anytime soon.

Hopefully hard fork 20 will accelerate that growth.

Anyone holding Ethereum did really well when the ICO craze started. Steem holders will benefit in the same way when SMTs start running on the steem blockchain.
