New on Netflix, June 2021
For the sake of keeping it simple i am going to focus on films and /or TV shows that i have already watched in the past and believe are worth seeing. I am not going to focus on Netflix originals or brand new films because I either haven't watched them yet or have no intention of doing so.

Here are what I consider to be some "must see" shows that are new to Netflix in June.

The Big Lebowski

This film is one of those iconic "cult classics" that actually did quite poorly at the box office only to end up having a huge following of fans over the years. When I say it did poorly I don't mean it lost money, it made some, but it really underperformed when you consider the level of talent and fame that is in the production. Jeff Bridges is particularly good when you consider that he is a highly renowned serious dram actor so for him to be in a comedy of sorts, is a rarity.

You have probably heard your friends make quotes from this film and there are so many fantastic one-liners in this movie that you may as well see what I consider to be one of the best crime comedy films that has ever been made. It makes me feel a bit old because I saw this in cinemas and it recently turned 23 years old.

A definite must see in my book

Million Dollar Baby

While this is not by far the first film that Eastwood directed, it is, in my mind when he came to the forefront as someone that really knows his stuff both in front of and behind the camera lens (and even when doing both, as he does in this film.)

This film is absolutely amazing and if you are one of the lucky few out there that somehow managed to make it this far in your life and NOT have seen this, you need to rectify that situation immediately. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll cheer. You also wont see what's coming next as the story unfolds. I would want to punch someone in the face if they were to spoil what happens in this amazing story and even though I have seen it many times I gladly do so again and again. There are very few films that I can say this is true for.

It also was nominated for 7 Academy Awards and won 4 of them.

Bad Teacher

While certainly not as legendary as the first 2 this film made me laugh in a lot of the scenes. It is a story of a "kept woman" who suddenly finds herself needing to return to her old profession of being a school teacher and she, shall we say, less than enthusiastic about the process.

I knew a few teachers when I was in high school that really seemed to hate their career choices and while they were not as bad as Elizabeth (Cameron Diaz), we all had that one teacher that would roll out the TV rack a bit more often than other teachers would.

The film is predictable because of course she turns her ways around by the end of the film and you can see that coming from a long ways away, but the journey there is made fun by a good mix of characters including a surprisingly good-at-his-role Justin Timberlake - who I think really should be doing more acting than he does.

Starsky and Hutch

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson made a lot of movies that they were both in ( 12, actually) and other than *Zoolander* this is my favorite. I don't really care enough to look it up to make sure, but I want to say that this was the second to last one with *Zoolander 2* (which was a disaster) being the last one. I can understand why they would start to distance themselves from one another after making so many movies together because they were starting to get type-cast with only being in films opposite one another. It was a good recipe because all of the films they were in together, including *Zoolander 2* made tons of money at the box office.

Their chemistry in this film is pretty amazing and if you have ever heard someone say "Do it!" in a funny voice, this film is where that came from.

Others of note but not worthy of their own section

* **I am Sam** - The film where Sean Penn went "full retard"
* **Swordfish** - entertaining crime drama about hacking where Hale Berry gets her knockers out on screen and shocked the world

* **What Women Want** - Mel Gibson develops the ability to read women's minds and **totally** takes advantage of the situation

That'll do it for now. I feel as though this is a pretty great month for film additions for Netflix and most of these should be available in most regions. If you haven't seen all of these, well I think you really should except for maybe *I am Sam* as I only included that because of the *Tropic Thunder* reference.
