<div class=text-justify>I have continued to enjoy my journey of sharing with the community surrounding blockchain and investing which has encouraged me to expand my horizons to see what I can continue to achieve. While my engagement continues to be relatively low than it has been, I think that expanding the scope and exposure of my thoughts can foster more interest from me once again. I have decided to try the Publish0x platform and share some of the content I write for Steem to see how engagement compares.<p>
My focus remains on Steem which is why most of my posts will be posted on both platforms. This will not impact my daily post here and in fact, I will likely not post there on a daily basis. My plan is to try to meet other community members with similar interests to then potentially share more of my Steem experience while there. I see that it could be a good way to expand our reach from the ecosystem while sharing our experiences about it.
From the week or so that I have joined the platform, there surely seems to be a clear link between the interests of the community. If feels someone more positive as it does not have the whole downvote aspect and focuses on rewarding the authors and readers. Engagement seems high while no clear incentive to do so exists which is quite interesting given what has happened here over the last year or so with many comment sections.
My first approach, like the suggestion for Steem, will be to present myself to the community. It feels great as it will be my second chance at doing so. Given how much I talk about the importance of a good introduction to the Steem platform, I am hoping that it goes well although I don't see many introduction posts there thus far. I thought it would be great to share it here as well for those that are just joining or have not gotten to read a bit more about me. Happy to hear feedback as usual!

**Who is New Age Investor?**
This is my first blog post here on the Publish0x platform and I am really excited as the community seems to be very passionate about many of the interests that I have been pursuing myself for some time now. While I categorize myself as an introverted person, I have learned with some experience that engaging in these community creates great value for those whom participate. That is why I have decided to expand my reach into this community and share some of my thoughts and experiences around a number of subjects that I believe could be of interest to the community. However, first I would like to present myself and how this journey called life has led me here.<p>
My professional background is in Accounting & Finance where I have had exposure to the exciting world of investments in addition to access to financial reporting, corporate finance, real estate, insurance, among many other subjects within the industry. I was one of the few lucky students that was able to academically prepare for this world as it was my area of study in College as well. These days I meet a lot of professionals in the industry whom have had unusual academic starts. While they provide for great diversity and perspective, I cannot imagine how my career would have progressed in the industry without the foundation received in College.
In addition to my academic preparation, I was also a student that took learning into my own hands as I had an investment portfolio before even finishing High School. This enabled me to not only learn the concepts of the financial world but to also put them into practice. Although most learning was done by committing mistakes, they were lessons that have molded me into what I am today. I have also always been an early technology adopter since a young age. This enabled me to have hands on experience of the trends that would begin the digital and internet revolution. It also provided my investment portfolio with great returns that enabled me to diversify my portfolio more over time. The bubble also bursted and provided my first lesson in the market which is the importance of diversifying and not being emotional connected to our investments.
Fortunately, the crash of the Dotcom bubble did not push me out of the market and I slowly built the portfolio once again and was even able to foster the small Real Estate exposure I had gained with some of the diversification I did with previous gains. The market once again heated up and provided attractive returns which allowed me to remain confident in my decision making. Unfortunately, the decision to expand my Real Estate experience came at an awful time as the Housing Financial Crisis was right around the corner.
I saw as the markets panicked and crash again only years after the last bubble. This time around, however, investment I had made were not as liquid to move out of and I can say that as of today, those properties remain in my portfolio underwater for the most part. Another great lesson for me but I was fortunate to have a great professional career which not only survived the financial crisis, it prospered given my ability to navigate the markets and solve problems as they arose in my organizations. This allowed me to move past the impact of my portfolio and continue building.
It was a humbling experience to go through the crisis as it centered me once again on my capacities. It also shed light on my ability to really shield myself from these markets and the apparent manipulation they are a part of. I saw how institutions were bailed out despite their participation in the most significant economic contraction in a century. This was concerning which led me to take more action in controlling my financial future. Since the crisis I have been improving my balance sheet with a diversified portfolio that now also started to include Precious Metals. While I am not a "gold bug," I really likely the potential the asset class has to preserve capital in times of uncertainty.
This was also the beginning of my interest in the FIRE community. Financial Independence / Retire Early was fascinating to see as a movement after the crisis because it was led by those wanted to take command of their own finances which I believe is a right we all have. It also allowed me to see how many do much more with less; particularly when comparing them to myself. It was encouraging enough to allow me to start taking steps to preparing for Financial Independence. I now focus my efforts to both build my portfolio while also aggressively paying down debt. I am now closer to that goal than I have ever been!
A new Rabbit Hole for me started after this as another bubble had started to form. Bitcoin was gaining plenty of attention and while I knew enough from experience to not immediately jump in, I found the concept interesting. After a handful of books and engagement on some online communities, I took the leap and invested in bitcoin. I would eventually almost forget about it although I kept monitoring the price as the booms and bust came and went. However, 2017 came with the asset class expanding and catching the attention of many.
While I recognized the bubble, I once again held on to too many and for too long (although I am still a HODLer)! I had thought the bubble was over too quickly and thought a rebound would come so I took time to research and learn more about the technology and the other projects that had been launched. During the process, I found myself diversifying into new projects within the space and while most have performed very similarly, some have provided knowledge through experiences. Steem is an example of a project I researched and I fell in love with. It has provided me a platform to write and engage with a great community in order to gain perspective in the rest of my journey. While it is no secret that it has been challenging, I could say I would not be sharing this today without that experience.
This experience has also led me to be an active member in other blockchain and cryptocurrency communities. I have learned about many projects which have led to decisions to both invest and not. It recently led me to learning more about the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) concept which has been a whole new and exciting experience for me. It seems as if it is the climax of the potential for blockchain and its technology in the finance industry which is primed for disruption. This is what currently has my attention as it continues to evolve every day as it grows across the community. It is also what has attracted me here to Publish0x as I saw that DAI is among the potential assets that could be earned.
This journey seem like it is just beginning given all the excitement and opportunity to go from here. Adding my sharing and engagement on the Publish0x platform is the latest step in learning and adopting to evolving times. I intend to share content here similar to what I have been doing over at Steem (https://staging.busy.org/@newageinv) which includes thoughts and news about a number of themes including Blockchain, Cryptocurrencies, Finance, Markets, Investing, among others. I look forward to engaging with the community and learning as we go through this journey together!</div>
