1. I think steemit will be bigger than Facebook.
I see people here from far and small and large countries.
It is not easy, but someone can make an income with steemit especially in countries where the livelihood is lower, and it is precisely there an extra income is needed. Another category is young people, or less able-bodied people, or people who want to be at home to take better care of their children or parents. Steemit reaches a huge amount of super creative people with a lot to tell. Steemit will be huge in 10 years. And I can hardly wait for it!
2. I do not think you should limit yourself to steemit.
You can write, clearly, and you are willing to be open about yourself and your world. And you dare to give good, clear advice without making excuses. It is what it is. That is badly needed at the moment. Your picture and the joy you are writing with makes you being proceed as a happy (successful)  man. People listens to advises from a happy man!
So please continue to post here for us (me ... lol), but I think you could reach more people if you also use other mediums.
