## The dream 

>I am 27 and the mother of a little girl. I dreamed that I was volunteering at a special maternity ward and that all women were very old. I had to bring to one of them milk-substitute from the closet and there were special types of milk such as: women over the age of 90, Holocaust survivors with extra vitamins etc. That's all I remember but it's a very disturbing dream for some reason.

> My baby is 3.5 months old, charming girl. I had a long, complicated 35-hour birth (due to massive blood loss I needed to have surgery immediately after birth) but the feeling is not of traumatic birth. I returned to the workforce and now have a new job in the field of youth at risk (teaching and training), a field I had been involved in before the birth.

## My Interpretation

The question is why did you find the dream disturbing? 

It may be a feeling that you have awakened with and therefore I do not believe you can put your finger on the exact cause. But the disturbing feeling was there and certainly requires your attention.

From what you wrote - about yourself and the dream - I feel that the dream made you feel empty. You approached the closet, that symbolized the reservoir of energies that are within you. There, in that closet, you had to find different types of milk (=nourushing energies) for different people who by their very nature are not supposed to accept those milks-substitutes (old women, etc.). 

The dream, therefore, tells you to do some personal checking regarding your giving, both in quantity and in quality. You volunteer (even in the dream!) and work with populations that require a lot. Your work is holy work. But, and this is critical, your giving should not come at the expense of your giving to yourself and your family. 

As a caretaker, you probably know that. The dream asks you to check whether you are giving too much to people you are not supposed to give or are you trying to do beyond your powers, or to do something useless (milk-substitutes to Holocaust survivors will do no good). 

Your dream is a helping and guiding one. It is there to reflect back at you a psychic narrative that goes on within you. Without judgment of guilt, you are merely requested to be aware. If this narrative is acceptable by you, then do nothing.
