The distribution of Steem created every round is splin in two parts. 10℅ is used for curation payouts and 90℅ is divided as Steem Power. This is relative to the amount in the wallet of an account at that current round.

The reason for some to unite is because of the voting system advantage for large Steem Power holders. The current way to counter this heavily biased competition is by forming groups. Although a huge number of united accounts would be needed to make a big difference. It has some effect. And I think it is okay. 

In my opinion individuals and communities are co-dependend. One can not excist without the other. If there were no group, who would know who they were? Guess I'm more of an 'and'  instead of an 'or' thinker. We can be individualists but still equivalent as humanity.

That is something I would like to see grow at SteemIt. But maybe I'm too much of a dreamer.
