Gentians
Gentians have an interesting folding mechanism, it almost looks like a camera's aperture that can rotate open:

To be precise, this is a *marsh gentian* (Gentiana pneumonanthe), *klokjesgentiaan* in Dutch.

No, I don't usually carry something that can get close enough to show much detail on these eggs, they are only about 1mm in diameter.

Yes. I was amazed that even show up in the flowers shots.  Some of the Lycaenid eggs have amazing architecture if you can get close enough.
