Green Eyed Monster
After I had posted [this](https://steemit.com/colorchallenge/@ocrdu/colour-challenge-mostly-green-dragonflies-and-damselflies) I realised I do have a photo of a dragonfly with green eyes, but it is a different species:

Not the best of photos, but the only one I have of this fairly rare *green-eyed hawker* (Aeshna isoceles), *vroege glazenmaker* in Dutch.

It is in the same family (Aeshnidae) as the *migrant hawker* (Aeshna mixta), *paardenbijter* in Dutch ...

... and the bigger *blue hawker* (Aeshna cyanea), *blauwe glazenmaker* in Dutch ...

... and also the huge *blue emperor* (Anax imperator), *grote keizerlibel* in Dutch:

That last one's body is about 8cm (3.2") long, making it the largest species of dragonfly in The Netherlands. It is big and strong enough to hunt smaller dragonflies and damselflies, and it does.
