Until recently, a diamond ring for me was just a ring with a diamond on it. Not more. Until I had a conversation with my cousin on vacation about getting married. She herself works at a jeweler and knows quite a few meanings ...

**The diamond ring and its meaning:**

Brilliant rings are traditionally only 1 stone and this stone is a diamond. A diamond is a kind of stone with one of the hardest materials in the world, that means that theoretically diamonds can exist forever. Diamond stones are also a unique jewel in the world. If all humanity came together and tried to make the same diamond again, they would not be able to do it. You never get exactly the same shape again. Not even our current machines should be able to do that. Because every stone is be unique in its nature.

Now I think that the meaning of the diamond or brillant ring has become clear. When proposing marriage, you signal your beloved that *she is for you the most unique woman in the world, and that you want to be with her until the end of time...*

Bis vor kurzem war ein Brillantring für mich einfach nur ein Ring mit einem Diamanten drauf. Mehr nicht. Bis ich dann im Urlaub mit meiner Cousine ein Gespräch hatte übers Heiraten. Sie selber arbeitet beim Juwelier und kennt so ziemlich viele Bedeutungen...

**Der Brillantring und seine Bedeutung:**

Brillantringe umfassen laut Tradition nur 1 Stein und dieser Stein ist ein Diamant. Ein Diamant ist eine Art Stein mit einem der härtesten Materialen der Welt, dh dass theoretisch Diamanten für immer existieren können. Diamantsteine sind aber  auch ein einzigartiges Juwel in unerer Welt. Wenn die ganze Menschheit zusammenkommen und versuchen würde denselben Diamanten noch einmal herzustellen, würde sie es nicht schaffen. Man bekommt niemals haargenau noch einmal die selbige Form hin. Nicht mal unsere jetzigen Maschinen sollen dazu in der Lage sein. Weil jeder Stein auch in seiner Beschaffenheit einzigartig sein soll. 

Jetzt denke ich, dass die Bedeutung des Diamant- bzw Brillantrings klar geworden ist. Bei einem Heiratsantrag signalisiert man seiner geliebten, *dass sie die für einem die einzigartigste Frau auf der Welt ist, und das man bis zum Ende mit ihr sein möchte...*
