What a grand finale for this premier league title. Wow. What a journey it has been with so many nerve-racking, heart-stopping and jaw-dropping moments which is not devoid of some disappointing moments too. Liverpool was top in December 29th with 10 points and now, Manchester City leapfrogged them and pipped them to the title. No human could have written this script. What a joy it must have been for Manchester City and disappointing for Liverpool. It was a *"Oh! So near"* moment for them.

The battle for the title started at 3 PM (GMT) and Liverpool took an early lead which was their only goal of the match through Mane. They knew they had to do their job and rely on Brighton to do some damage to Manchester City for them to win the title.

Brighton almost gave the title to Liverpool when they stunned the football world by leaving Manchester City to be trailing by a goal. It would give renewed hope to Liverpool because every supporter would be with their phones but that lead only lasted 38 seconds before Sergio Aguero restored parity. Aguero has a thing for title-winning goals and he did his part.

Laporte also scored the second while Mahrez practically sealed the tie and the title with a goal worthy of winning the title before Ilkay Gundogan rounded up the contest. It would be a heartbreak for Liverpool but joy for Manchester City who has now won back to back premier league title.

No team has led by December and not win the title but Liverpool led by December in 2008/2009, 2013/2014 and now 2018/2019 and still didn't win the title. That would be disappointing for them because they wanted the title for so long. They played some amazing football and gave everyone such an amazing attacking football that any football lover would want. In this modern era, imagine 97 points still not being enough to win the title. The two points they dropped with Manchester United obviously cost them that title.

Arsenal won, Chelsea drew and Manchester United lost by 2 goals as usual. It is going to be a busy summer for them. A lot of revamping should be done.

City won the title with 98 points and won their last 14 consecutive games. They hold the record for most home goals this season and conceded just 4 goals since February in the Premier League.

Liverpool, on the other hand, has 97 points which is their record point ever in a Premier League season. They had the most clean sheet in the League and only had one loss in the whole of the season.

What a title race this was! Manchester City is crowned champions! **CONGRATULATIONS!!!**. The first team to retain the Premier League in a decade. Fully deserved.

In other news, Salah, Mane and Aubemayang shared the golden boot award with 22 goals each. Wow!
