Good day, dear friends!

Today I want to share with you photos of the wonderful beauty. who lives in our Minsk zoo! This year, this wonderful squirrel was given an entire aviary, although she shares it with a couple of lovely rabbits, but they don’t interfere with each other very much!) I love these Fuzzies very much, though I saw only a couple of times in our parks over the summer .... And here we managed to observe what they are all the same interesting in their behavior. The enthusiastic squeals of children were understandable, and many saw the squirrel at all so close there was still an opportunity to feed a little. And someone even tried to stick their fingers over the net. At all persuasion of the parents did not even react, so were passionate about the process!)

These cute creatures have a very short memory, they often forget where to hide their supplies. And yet they can rightly be called toilers. In their most active time, and this day they manage to process about 100 pine and 15 fir cones! And this hoo what work! Deftly jumping from branch to branch, looking for good cones then!)

We used to think that squirrels can eat only nuts and mushrooms. But when in the zoo she shoved a piece of nut, and one of the children decided to joke and put a crust of black bread through, she chose bread! Imagine! We laughed for a long time, not to surprise with nuts and seeds, as it turns out. In nature, they love to feast on the eggs of birds, sneaking into the nests of trees, because for none is not a problem. They can even attack small lizards and rodents.

Even if suddenly, for some reason, the squirrel falls from a tall tree, it will not break. This is all due to its tail, which serves as a parachute for it and at the same time driving. And yet it turns out they are great swimmers, but the most important thing is to keep the tail higher, and in that case, if it gets wet, it will quickly anchor and pull to the bottom. At the tail, the males choose a female for themselves, for the one that has a tail that is lush and chooses!

In order to survive the winter squirrel need about 3000 nuts. Voracious however)))) The most developed feeling is their hearing. Their teeth grow throughout life. And it turns out they mostly live alone and only in the winter period can gather in small groups.
