Hello fellow Teachers and Students!,


As part of championing our course on Science made Simple, today I shared how to measure and calculate for the Density of Regular Object.

I demonstrated this using chalk board, tape measure, rectangular wood and illustration of how to use top pan balance/ compression balance to measure the mass of the rectangular wood. I said this could be more easily for the students to get the concept from their *Relevant Previous Knowledge (RPK) grasp in their first lessons on how to measure the mass and Volume of an Object.

I performed some simple work example taken the mass to be 10g and vulume measured to be 5cm3 in case the students are using smaller units. The students should note the Kilograms corresponds with metre cube, Grams with Centimeters and Milligrams with Millimeters cube. Density was defined to help the student able to substitute the figures in the equation, thaty Mass/Volume and the Units equals to g/cm3. In simple substitution, the students presents 10g/5cm3 which gives the final answer as 2g/cm3 as the Density of the rectangular wood.
