Dear Community and friends, I greet you all.  Again in @steemiteducation, we are here to empower education to students, teachers, parents and the entire Community.


When we talk about the stakeholders of education, it comprises of teachers, parents, students, government, community and at times friends that contribute in one way or the other.


 But is the parents that make up of community, so parents aren't segregated from the community.  The most difficult aspect in the school and community relationship is *"tension or conflict"* that normally happen. This can't be ceased since we always have new enteries of students, new teachers and new parents with different ideology, emotions, behaviours and their background of training. Whatever be the case we must prepare to resolve tension or conflict that might occur between teachers the community.


I have experienced many of such kind of tension either my own or other colleague teachers. As a teacher, you must always prepare for some of these challenges in school, since it's part of lesson we normally learn. Last term such tension happened to our Headteacher, when he asked a student who was late for school to pick up some litters, on one Wednesday which happens to be worship time. This was to punish the student for being late. A parent from no where just stepped in the school premises started insulting our Headteacher on top of his voice. The people around stepped his toes to stop that shameful act, but he didn't pay heed to that, he even nearly beat our Headteacher. But we cooled the heart of our Master to exercise restrain. Our Headteacher even recorded his voice.


The second tension is this term, on the second week when a colleague teacher punished the students with cane. The student failed to do his homework. To ensure discipline, the teacher caned them on their buttocks. A week latter, the student came with father saying that, the teacher has hit the cane with the child's hand🖐️ that has made it swell. But the teacher confirmed that he beat them on their buttocks. The parent didn't understand any explanation given, threatening the teacher that he will also hurt him. We had to call other dignitaries for help in order to resolve issues.



In schools where it is situated in the center of community, tension is common to  occur. But teachers must be careful in order to live in peace, not in pieces with the community. When instituting punishment, we must be conscious and careful not to hurt the students. The recommended and appropriate punishment must be used.
