### Its been approximately 24 hours since I joined steamit, these are the thoughts and emotions I've been had since then. I'm sure you all can relate! ###

Since I'm a personal trainer, on the weekends I get the great pleasure of training my brothers girlfriend, Heather. I wake up in the morning, take the bus, and walk on over to their apartment. It's always exciting visiting these two, they are the epitome of a young millennial couple, and their apartment is to die for! Not only do I get a thrill from personal training, but I also like learning about the newest (or not so new) things that are all the rage. Thats why I LOVE my brother, Luis, in the last week it making a thousand dollars from @Cryptokittys to… “Hey you should post your content on this site that PAYS you for your content.”

Immediately after my session with Heather, I sat down with Luis as he briefly explained Steemit to me. He didn’t even really fully understand it, and we are both still learning. Excited out of my mind, I pounced on this opportunity and proceeded to sign up for an account. My mind was racing with all the possible opportunities that can arise from Steemit.

While thinking about putting in my basic information I was thinking to myself, “What is going to be my username? The same as my instagram account? But what if I just use my name? Should I use my entire name? Should I use the word fit in there so that everyone knows my niche is fitness? What if I don’t always post about fitness? Are people going to even like me? Will they read my stuff?” And that’s when the fear began to settle in. I felt my heart thumping, thinking to myself all the reasons why I shouldn’t make an account. Ugly thoughts like, "I’m just going to embarrass myself," "this isn’t going to work,” and "there isn’t a large fitness community” started arising. I put my phone down and looked out the window as I defeated myself, yet again.

Two minutes later, I’m feeling encouraged again and tired of being a Negative Nancy I said to hell with it. I picked up my phone and choose the name @paolajanefit. I got my email verification, and then I’m told I have to wait to get approved.

Somewhat frustrated I ask, “Seriously Luis, how long is this going to take?" Like it was his fault. 

My patient brother tells me its going to be just a few hours. So I wait. And I am already thinking about my first post! What will I name it? What pictures will I use? All while refreshing my email.

A few hours pass by, nothing. A few more hours, still, a whopping heap of nothing. Then, the next day I wake up, sure that I will have my account, reload still nothing! 


I text my brother, "What the hell Luis?! This sucks!!” 

Nonetheless, I continued to wait. Believe it or not, a whole 48 hours passed by and I didn’t get a thing. Maybe this isn’t for me after all…I felt myself sinking into oblivion again.

Last night, (which was over 48 hours of waiting) I made the leap to just pay for an account with my litecoin (I paid around $35) and got my account set up. I wouldn’t have done that if I honestly didn’t feel like I didn’t have potential somewhere deep down inside. Somehow I found the courage to do this at this instant, and decided to never let myself slip into the fear of not being good enough. This pushed me to make a great intro post - which I feel like is doing great (I’m up around $12.00).

Honestly, all you have to do is believe in yourself because if you don’t…who is?

The answer to that is: no one!

After my first post I received so many warm welcomes, followers, and I even got resteemed by a blog called @welcoming! I feel like that gave me a push I needed! I learned what Dtube is, and I'm excited to post there too. I feel like I’m getting a nice little roll here and I would love to keep riding this rollercoaster. I went from feeling hopeful, to sad, to depressed, to the happiest person on Steemit!

The last 24 hours on Steemit have honestly been really exciting, I jumped out of bed this morning with a purpose. I just wanted to get up, look at everyones amazing content - get some more ideas, jot them down and just WRITE! I haven’t felt this excited in a long time! I mean, as I’m writing this I am already curating my next post in the back of my head. 

Thank you all for the love on my last post, you guys have motivated me and lit a fire inside that I have been looking for! I would like to know, 
-Did you guys feel this way within the first 24 hours of joining Steemit? 
-How long did you guys have to wait to get your accounts approved?
