Sure, words have meanings, and over and over Jesus says things like "it is WRITTEN" or "have ye not READ." Why then does He start teaching about what people have heard being SAID in Matthew 5?

Is Jesus contrasting what God actually revealed in the Old Testament writings with the traditional Jewish oral teachings?

I'll get into it more next time, I just wanted to point it out and get people thinking. It's amazing what we miss (hiding right under our nose) when we just believe whatever we are told. I was amazed when I finally opened my eyes. I guess I wasn't ready to see it before.
