However, whether it's the hard spines or the tiny prickers, some risk is involved in handling and picking them. 

The best way that I know is to use a pair of tongs. This not only works for picking the fruit or pads, but also for holding them still while cutting them up to eat.

Tongs are the only way to go. I've tried being careful, I've tried using mechanic gloves, nothing else works. And the soft fuzzy spines are all but impossible to get rid of. I tried dipping my hand's in Elmer's Glue, and then peeling it off, but that rarely works. Just some tweezers and time... 

Delicious, though.

lol, but this brings back a crazy memory.

I drove from Athens, Greece, down to the bottom of the Peloponese for business with two colleagues in the car.

On the way I saw the sides of the road were filled with cactus bearing fruit. It was not possible to buy the fruit in Athens, so on the way back I asked them to stop and I carefully filled a cardboard box with fruit. Luckily we ate a few before continuing our return trip.

Now, this happened in the middle of Summer, with very high temperatures, so...we drove with all windows open. 

Guess how long it took for all three of us to start scratching.

We threw away the box of fruit, but we kept on scratching all the way home - and I doubt they ever forgave me...

Well, I got a present problem - which you seem well qualified to advise on:

<center><h1>Aborting Baby-Peppers</h1></center>

I have a pot with some soil and over the last few months, when I eat something with seeds (green peppers, japalenos, pawpaws) I throw the seeds on it. Two weeks ago baby peppers started to grow - maybe a 100 or more.

I do not have a garden, so I can keep maybe 2 or 3 on my windowsill,  The rest I must give away.

I wish you lived in the same country, cause then I could give you enough to start a pepper farm :)
