An African Night in Cape Town!

The curtains are slowly being drawn and night approaches on this day of our visit to the Western Cape Province in South Africa!
One thing about this country is its stunning sunsets and also the greetings of nature's beings before the dark. These scenes were taken on the second day of our short five day visit and sadly we were occupied by work most of the time.
But, as stated before, by grace I had the early mornings and the late afternoons to walk around in this lovely place with my camera!

This is how my walk started, greeted by the most magnificent final daylight clouds!

What a sight! A stranger appeared at the back gate of the property!

As the light was fading, I thought to take a shot with the flash! Look at the result in the eyes!

Here we have the sun breaking through the clouds!

I saw a stunning silhouette shot of a "Jacky Hanger" (Fiscal Shrike) enjoying the last rays of the sun!

Here we have the sun on its way to disappear behind the mountains!

And finally, here the fading sun is setting the clouds on fire!

It was really so wonderful to breathe in crisp and clean mountain air and here one sleeps like the dead every night, as our lungs were filled with oxygen. The silence in the evenings was such a lullaby to us, as where we come from the cars and wailing sirens of emergency vehicles rip the peace of the nights apart. Not to mention the young attention seekers that install the most horrific loud and blaring exhausts on their cars and bikes. One can hear them racing from miles away!

I am convinced that human beings were designed to enjoy the peace of silence and all of these very loud cars are desperate screams for attention and acceptance of the drivers. No doubt many will argue that they enjoy loud things in life and to each his own. In my world a whisper carries more power than a shout! A sincere compliment enjoys more impact than a loud crass joke!
