We planned short trip to go Batam Indonesia for day trip. For Myanmar passport holder, we no need any visa application and we just need to buy ferry ticket and ride about 45 minutes and we can be arrive free and easy.

We total seven of us gather together and go to harbourfront ferry terminal to catch our boat.

In Singapore, there have three ferry terminal to go Indonesia, one is harbourfront ferry terminal, Changi Ferry Terminal and another is Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal.

Ferry ticket fees was less than S$50 for two way ticket for each of us and we can fairly bare the price. And for the ferry company are also so many and every 20 minutes.

As I said before, Singapore immigration service was awesome, but I face new experience because of the lift at harbourfront ferry terminal.

After I crossed immigration there has only one lift for wheelchair user, he lift door was like our glass door and need to push to open. Because of my high disability I cannot manage to open the door and I am stuck in the lift for two to three minutes.

When I saw someone near to the lift and I shout for help and get his help and out from the lift. Early morning, I get stress out due to stuck in the lift. After at the jetty, the ship crew help me with the wheelchair to carry me into the ship and place me at wheelchair boarding area. They start their board on time without delay and our journey began.

We enjoyed beauty of Singapore from the sea and get the fresh air. After crossing east side the Singapore area, we can see aeroplane every 5 minutes flying out from Singapore. About 40 minutes ride we enter into Indonesia sea area and approach to Batam city. Indonesia immigration also serve very well and without delay. They also give first priority to special need person.

After crossing the immigration at the waiting area, our tour guide is waiting for us. After we all finished our immigration issue, the tour guide get his seven sitter car and transfer me into the vehicles and our journey began on Indonesia soil. Firstly we look for money changer to change our money and secondly find Grocery store to buy beer and snacks.

In Indonesia Batam city is free trade zone and most of the shop offering duty-free shopping. Liquor and cigarettes are cheap and can smoke everywhere. But we cannot drink openly because of Muslim country and need to respect them. We get to have breakfast but most of the local eating place was closed because of hari raya puasa is the day before yesterday.

So we drop at Indian shop to get our brunch. Their local taste was rich and foods are so good for us for the first time. They cooked well and we enjoyed our foods. After we finished our brunch, we visit to Saint Peter’s church, it is one of the biggest catholic church and very beautiful. We get down there and pray in the church for a while and spend there around one hours.

After visiting the church finished, we planned to visit to Galang Refugee Camp (Camp Vietnam) which is about 60 KM away from town.

At the same time we also can visit to Barelang Bridge. The bridge is  link main Batam Island with Galang Island and beauty of engineering work and standing beautifully and connect between these two islands. The stretches is about 0.5 KM long and very popular bridge to visit and can fell about very beautiful scenery.

And it is being a cable-stayed bridge with two 118 m high pylons and main span about 350 meter.
