Every day has many ephemeral, it's hard to choose sometimes, and I choose several for the record of the day, like today. On the one hand, it is the Day of the Divine Shepherdess (1735, Venezuela) and, on the other hand, it is the anniversary of the birth of Charles Perrault (1628, France). We are now 672 days since the #quarantine was announced in #Venezuela due to the #Covid19 #Pandemic.

Placing two such disparate ephemeris in the same registry is something that I do not usually do, but in this case I did not find another way, you see, I usually give prominence to international ephemeris in consideration of the fact that in the network the borders are not so valid and a good part of my subscribers in different blogs are from various parts of the world, but in this case, the religious celebration of theDivine Shepherdess is too big and significant for me not to place it, so I gave it its prominent position and I decided to see how this would turn out.

It is a special day for Catholics, after all I believe that the procession of the Marian image is one of the three largest in the world, or at least that is what I have read, I still need to update the information on the statistics. The image of the Virgin Mary as a shepherdess is of Sevillian origin (Spain) and from more or less the 10th century as far as I know, the image of the Divine Shepherdess that we know is defined with her features since 1700, by a dream that was considered revelation divine of Fray Isidoro of Seville. In the case of Venezuela, the image arrived in later decades and by 1720 it was already a dedication present in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Caracas (Venezuela), as recorded, by 1740, the parochial Vicar of the church of the Immaculate Conception (center of the city of Barquisimeto) wanted to incorporate into his church an image of the Divine Shepherdess that was already worshiped in the Venezuelan plains, but due to a mix-up, the image was exchanged with one of the Immaculate Conception, another Marian dedication, and the one that had The request arrived at the Santa Rosa de Barquisimeto parish, when they tried to take the image they found that the weight increased, and it could not be removed from the site, so they interpreted it as a divine sign and left it there.

Thinking a little about our current life and the devotion of the Divine Shepherdess, well, I must say that among the various miraculous things that are attributed to her, the one that most strikes me is the suppression of the epidemic of 1855, it was cholera, but rather lethal epidemic after all. Today, if miracles are still valid, I suppose quite a few Catholics are going to beg for the containment and elimination of the current Covid-19 pandemic to be expedited.

I have left aside Charles Perrault, let's explain, this man is a classic author, father of an entire literary genre: Fairy Tales. He was in charge of compiling the existing and already traditional children's stories and rewriting them, embellishing details, giving twists and instructive content, defining iconic personalities that still accompany us today as part of the popular imagination. Among his stories we have many, such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood and Puss in Boots, each of them has taken its place in our childhood memories, either by stories or by the most recent productions of television series, films and the reinvention of many of its characters for our current times.

I really like stories, so you can imagine that this author was one that I read a lot about when I was a kid.

Well this is a bit long and unbalanced, but it is today's record, in personal report, I am generally fine, there is electricity, intermittent internet signal, I have enough food for the day and stored rainwater... compared with things that I have read from other colleagues, I am "like a King". Well, I wish you well and that we read each other another time.
