"You were never serious if you would have been serious from the past ten years, you might have pursued a barrister degree and would have been started working in my office", said a father to his son.
" If you had listened to me from the past ten years, I might have been working for Metropolitan Police Force", replied his son.
Both father and son are jousting on the dinner table opposite each other. Marjourie(Mother)is sitting on the other end of the table and listening to them."You will be our judge and you gave the decision what he should do" said Sir Julian(Father) to Marjourie. He said to son(William), I suggest you to take admission to Oxford University and pursue your barrister's degree but William isn't agreeing. Marjourie gave a decision to William to take arts in history and after 3 years your father will allow you to join the Metropolitan Police Force. William already knew it is not gonna happen.
William enjoyed his 3 years in Kings College London where he fell in love many times. When he completed his 3 years there, his professor told him to do a Ph.D. and agreed. In his summer holidays, he visited many places like Paris, Berlin, etc.
In September 1982, William joined Hendon Police College, a training college where he enjoyed almost every minute. After his training finished he met his father's pals son Fred. Fred was also working in the Police force and was 28 years old, somewhat older than William. Now William got an approach in Police and was treated special from others. First, they did his all sill tests, driving tests, etc and he has only rudimentary about it.
On his 2nd day of duty, Fred took him with himself and went for patrolling early in the morning. Both were talking about something in the car and stopped at traffic signals. Fred told Williams, someone will come and break the signal. That will be our first suspect and in the meantime, one guy broke the signal. Fred told Williams to hide behind the tree and upon my signal stop that car, at first Williams's face was looking apprehensive and then he went behind the tree. Upon Fred's signal, he stopped the car and Fred investigated the car driver.
"Hey! What is your problem? Didn't you see the signal? Why you crossed it? said Fred to the driver.
Sorry, sir, it won't happen again, I assure you. replied driver politely". William was taking car number while Fred asked driver to go.
Why you left him without charging? Asked William. Fred replied, his attitude, because of his attitude I left him, you have to learn so many rules yet my dear.
Sir Julian and Marjourie on the breakfast table, both reading newspapers. Sir Julian finished and went to his wife kissed her forehead and took her newspaper. That was a daily routine for them.
Sir Julian asked what happened to William exam for detective officer? replied Marjourie, it has time yet he has to finish his 2 years for that work to enter. Both did some arguments about their children, Williams and Grace. Grace who was still in her home and can defend any penniless no-hoper that comes across her.
